Annapolis Sailboat show April 26-28, 2024 Anyone else going?
My wife and I will be going to the show Sat. and Sun. Anyone else going? Perhaps we can meet up. We've recently relocated from Wisconsin and are looking for sailing opportunities in this part of the U.S.

Re: Mac 'bump' and silicone
I use Wearlon Speedcoat 49 bottom paint on my hull. It's water-based super slippery anti-fouling paint. I only have to re-coat it every 4-5 years or so. BE CAREFUL, don't hit the brakes too hard or you'll bend the winch stand. (Don't ask me how I know .)

I've been a member for years, but wasn't able to post for several years as the board wouldn't accept my password. I just tried to reset it and was able to. I've owned a 26M since 2006.

shore power installation, galvanic isolator
I'm in the process of installing a shore power system in my Mac 26M.
Where have you purchased the components, especially the galvanic isolator?
The only galvanic isolators I find on my internet search are either WAY too large or cost $400+.
Ezacdc.com seems to be out of business.

Re: 26M fuel tank
I have 4-6 gal. plastic tanks. The nice thing about them is I can take them out to fill them and at the end of the year I can remove them to drain them into my car. I use 1 for the trip out, one to return, and 2 extra for longer trips.

Re: An alternative to the bump
This year I tried pulling out the boat on the trailer, attaching the tie-down strap LOOSELY between the boat and the trailer, then re-launching the trailer. You only want 2-3" between the hull and the bunks. Now re-tighten the winch so the bow moves into the V. This reduces the angle between th...

Re: Our M26 appears in a music video...
Our 26M (Y.B.NORMAL) made it on the front page of our local newspaper (Appleton Post Crescent) several years ago when they abruptly closed the lock on the Fox River going from Lake Winnebago to Little Lake Butte des Mortes, trapping powerboats downstream on the river. The photographer was apparently...

Re: Where is everyone?
I'm busy SAILING! The season here in NE Wisconsin is short. So far I've been sailing the upper Bay of Green Bay (Lake Michigan), middle Bay of Green Bay, and Lake Winnebago. Ah, the wonders of trailer sailing.

Re: Canada rules & North Channel
I've been up there twice with the trailer sailors group. We routinely communicated on our VHF radios during our morning/evening call-ins. While I bought a composting head before our first trip up there, I never heard of anyone in our group having a problem with Canadian officials over a port-a-potty...

Re: Narrow Dodger
I purchased and installed the BWY full enclosure and stern rail seats this Spring and am VERY happy with them. I leave the frame for the dodger in place as it adds more hand holds going forward, and just remove the canvas. I did have a problem with the stern rail seats, but BWY worked with me to sol...

Re: What size Spinnaker are you using? (26M)
One of our sailors here is using an old E-scow symmetrical spinnaker on his 26D for racing. It works great, however, he suggests an A-sail for cruising. He got his S-sail for almost nothing because most E racers are going with A-sails.

Jimmyt,
Did you have any trouble aligning your motor to your rudders with the quick disconnect link? Mine is a few degrees off. I'm not sure if I should bend the stainless connector that goes from the rudder arm to the quick disconnect link in order to get the needed adjustment.
