Re: 26X forestay length
Worked on it last few days and got it much better. My turn buckle would not tighten due to threaded ends bottoming out on frame support in middle. Cut threaded ends shorter, drilled holes back for cotter pins. Gained about 3/4" (or shortened head stay). Tightened lower stays then upper stays, b...

26X forestay length
My mast has always lean toward stern at about 98 degrees from deck mast mount. If I tension the upper shrouds to set tension in forestay I have a too much bend in mast. Set lowers ones to take bend in middle out then I have hard time pinning forestay. Thinking forestay maybe too long (currently at 2...

Re: Never, ever wax my glass off again
Hi Mac26Mpaul Painted my raccoon stripe this spring with Pettiti Easypoxy One-Part Polyurethane Enamel gloss black. Put 3 coats on over 5 days. Once it was fully cured, water sanded with 1500 grit and hand buffed and wax to a smooth finish. Wished I had used the two part, it has a harder finish. We ...

Re: 26X Motor Well Drain Plumbing Question
I have a 98' 26X and when I bought it 5 years ago the liner was cracked in the rear berth just like your. The PO had it setting outside without a cover for a few years before I purchased it. Best I could figure out was rain water was entering around the chain plates. I sealed them 5 years ago and ha...

Re: Teleflex SS137 10
Great looking rear berth, Whipsyjac. My wiring back there needs some organizing. Mine came with a 10' steering cable and is hanging down too much. Hope the 9' fix better.

Re: Teleflex SS137 10
Thanks Whipsyjac, for the info. Kelly Hanson website is up but I will call and see if they are in business first. Sounds like the 9' cable should work.
Mine is original and I would feel better off the coast with a new one.
Thanks again everyone!!

Re: Teleflex SS137 10
Since we are on the steering subject, where can I find a "black center cap" for the stock steering wheel? BWY only has caps for the 26M. Any ideas?
I have a 1998 26X, mine I believe is a 10' cable which is a little long in the Aft berth. Do you think 9' would work for mine?

Re: Honda BF50 Stalling Under Load Today
Did you check for a spark? If you have a spark at the plug wire while engine is running then you may have a bad plug or clogged carb. If you pull the #3 spark plug after shutting off the engine, and it is dry on the base this indicates a lack of fuel, if plug was not firing. If plug is wet with gas ...
