Re: Mac 'bump' and silicone

I have good luck with this, use it every year. 8) Liquid Rollers, which is (AFAIK) silicone spray. Works like a charm for me, and I usually drive down a relatively steep hill at my local Erie Canal ramp on the way back to the parking area and gently hit the brakes. Two or three times, and it's snugl...

Re: Service suggestions

Thx, never even thought about the trailer springs. 8) Also..maybe grease the motor pivot points and tilt. Yep - that's important. Grease all the available zirk fittings, and apply a small amount of engine oil on any moving joints that aren't greased. You could check the tilt fluid to ensure it's pro...

Re: Service suggestions

Nice point, I think I replaced my anode about 10 years ago. 8) All seem like good items to replace. 2 years ago I replaced annodes. Learned a bit about annodes. There are different types for salt vs fresh water. Mine looked fine after 10 years, but I replaced them anyway since I had them. Also..mayb...

When is the last time you serviced the cooling impeller? If it's over 5 years, I'd replace it.

Service suggestions

Ok, the management of my boat yard is changing slightly. New manager sent me a list of proposed services. He's a bit new to this role. Looking for service suggestions from the members here, there's lots of expertise here. Note that I am 68 going on 100, so stuff I used to do I don't mind paying for....

Re: Waxing a Trailer

Interesting. I have never waxed my trailer in 10+ years. I do go over it with brush and rustoleum 8) I recently read some where about it being a good idea to wax your trailer, to get longer life out of it I guess. ... does anybody do this? We use a spray on product called "Salt-Away" that ...

Re: Mold?

Thx 8) We don't have as much humidity as Florida, but I have the same problem here in the Pacific Northwest. I bought this dehumidifier https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086YBRR1Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I drilled a hole in the bottom of the catch tray and keep it in t...

Detergent solution is often the best approach as sometimes bleach can be worse for you than the mold you are trying to deal with. Lots of good information on mold clean up at the CDC and EPA websites.

Re: Mold?

I plan to wipe everything down. I'm also concerned about moisture where I can't see/get to it.

Put a couple of "Damp Rid" inside to absorb water? Anything better? 8)
