Re: What's everyone doing about curtains?

I don't have any curtains at all :( Am I supposed to? Is it Mac mandatory? Because the windows are tinted I have never felt a need to also if it get super hot outside I put wet towels on the outside of the windows to cool things down. It's like an instant air conditioner kicking in but don't forget ...

Re: Spring is in the air - or radio

Hello all, It's just nice to hear someone talk about spring! Up here in western Canada we are finally getting out of our minus 45 weather and warming up to minus 6 or so for the next week but we will take it. The Mac is still frozen out in a farmer's field outside the city so I won't be able to grab...

Re: Our M26 appears in a music video...

Great video from a fellow Saskatchewanderer!!! I am based out of Saskatoon and spend a lot of time on the "dief." I made a video about Elbow and you will probably be able to see your Mac before it was even your Mac. Take a look and maybe we'll see you down on the lake :) Here is the link t...

Re: unused jib

I would take both jIbs off your hands (BrianW and C buchs) if you would be kind enough to send them my way. Mine is kind of just about done and I was just going to start looking for something else. Can you send me a message to work out the details?

Re: V-berth mattress pad options?

We used 4 inch thick memory foam and then we just cover it up with a regular bed sheet. During the day time we have some throw pillows on it with a couple nice blankets and its all good. It's more comfortable then out bed at home. :macx:

Re: IPad Waterproof Case

I have a mini Ipad with a lifeproof case. The case works well on a ball mount. My only problem is that my mini Ipad does not have built in GPS so its useless. Make sure your Ipad has gps in it before you go to all the work and money to purchase all the other components and apps  :macx:

Re: Where would I find one of these?

Wow Tom you are very good! I just pressed "enter" on my order for the upgraded fore stay and came back here and you have it here....wow. Hopefully there are no other complications with it and it just fits perfect. With the shipping and exchange it worked out to approx $150 Canadian just so...

Re: Where would I find one of these?

MY 26X is parked about 2 hours away but I did happen to find this video that shows the cable inside the CDI roller furling. The cable is what I am looking for as it is frayed up at the point where it connects to the main sail. It may be called a forestay? Here's the info: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Where would I find one of these?

Hello all, I went sailing on the weekend and when I was putting my sail up I noticed that the cable that was connected to the main sail and to the Roller fuller was starting to fray. It the connection part that goes to the top of the main sail. It looks like there is approx 15 strands of wires and a...

Re: Fresh water purification

I only sail on fresh water and have never sailed my vessel on the ocean yet. Because of that I invested into one of these: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SAWYER-Complete-4-Liter-Gravity-Water-Purification-System-/202001654890?hash=item2f083ca46a:g:iW0AAOSw3YJZUTn1 I have plenty of fresh water but I just hav...

Re: My 1997 MacGregor 26X modifications

Is there any problem with the 2 batteries sitting directly on the floor? I think the previous owner of my Mac did not put them on the floor for the fear that the weight of them could somehow damage the floor in travel or on heavy seas??? He installed them on that support beam which makes it impossib...

Re: My 1997 MacGregor 26X modifications

Congratulations on your new " to you" Mac! I have a 1998 and they are great. I love all your electrical mods that you are doing. Are you going to do anything solar? I have a 100 watt panel on my Mac and I don't have to even run the Honda 50 for charging up the batteries. I am envious that ...

Re: Stuck Centerboard

I have a 26X and yes sometimes it seems like the centerboard is stuck but it is not. On land it can only fall down a inch or so before it hits that guide so it is hard to tell on land. On the water sometimes I let the cable go and it may take several minutes to slowly drop down. Some times it takes ...

Re: What paint would you use on your rudders?

Thanks guys, I think I am going to go with that Interlux Brightside if it works for others then I will try that. If it works for gabid for 4 years already then it should work for me. I just finished the rudders with that anti fowling stuff as I might as well use it up and then next winter I will go ...
