Re: First formal race with my 26S. NAILED IT! (continued)
I am also a 26S racer. I am also thinking about moving to the big job rig. I am looking forward to hearing how it it performs for you.

Re: PHRF
Thank you for the info. The PHRF still seems to be a mystery. I wish I understood it. Does anyone have a source that does a good job explaining.

PHRF
What is the PHRF rating for a 26S. I have raced for a couple of years in a non-spinnaker class at 222. I have done respectable. I read recently the 222 rating would be for a 26S with a spinnaker. I then found a non-spinnaker 26S rating at 242. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Checklist
Where's the beer on that checklist? I think it's more important to have a parts checklist before you leave to head to the launch, to make sure you have all the bits and tools. In my experience the rigging part tends to work itself out, although a big one is ATTACH THE DARN WIND VANE before you rais...

Re: Checklist
This is a good list. I can use this check list to create a specific list for Orkia.

Checklist
I am interested in developing a launch checklist and a trip checklist. Does anyone have something they use for launching. I have a 26S, but I would assume any Macgregor checklist would work.

Re: Dyneema Rigging
Dyneema rigging would be easy to tie out of the way when taking the mast down for trailer. I have not priced it yet. I have replaced my lifelines. I am starting with that to see how it performs. So far, so good. It has a nicer feel if you are grabbing the lifelines to move about. It's easy to tighte...

Re: New Sailor, new to me boat
If the boat has been sitting for awhile you may need to rebed the penetrations on the deck. When I bought mine three years ago. I rebedded everything and caulked the top of the rub rail. This stopped the water. I’ve noticed it has started to come back, so I am thinking it is time to recaulk the rub ...

Re: Rudder
One place to look is on ruddercraft.com for an Ida Rudder. These are hpde oversized rudders. I have one on my 26S. I highly recommend it. They are a little costly, running just under $500.

Peak "the Generator" headsail
Does anyone have any experience with "the generator" from Peak Sails? It is a Genniker. A nylon Genoa.
Right now I have a 90% jib. I am wondering how it will work for a second headsail for light wind.

Re: Galley Table
I have purchased a Lagun Table Leg for my cabin table. Not quite sure where I'll mount it yet, need to get in and play with the range of adjustment and motion to decide. Here's a video about the Lagun. https://youtu.be/ndgkur197js The Lagun Table leg looks perfect. Let me know where you decide to m...

Re: Galley Table
As in everything in a sailboat...everything is a compromise. The original design was a table that swiveled from over the sink to the table position. I am going to try to stay true to the original design.
