Re: 26M Alcohol Stove Top

Anybody make a replacement gasket for their stove? I was thinking of cutting a circle from an inner tube.
My 96 26X stove gasket was damaged about 10 years ago.

Re: Gearbox oil flush screws are stuck!

I used a hand impact. Big screw driver bit on one end and you wack the other end with a hammer.

Re: Glue for 26X head door edging

I was thinking of using Gorilla glue. I can attest to its holding power. I had to glue the heel back onto my dress shoes a few years ago when I was out of town on business. Purchase it from home depot and went back to the hotel. I lathered it onto the the rubber heel and used a hotel chair to hold i...

Glue for 26X head door edging

Has anyone glued the edging on the head door back on for a 26X? Which glue did you use?

New Loose foot mainsail

I have a 95 26X with the original rope foot mainsail which I intend to replace. Apparently Loose foot is the way to go but I am not sure how the loose foot mainsail tack attaches. My boom has a plain aluminum rod from inside the boom that connects to the mast with the inverted J bolt used for reefin...

trailer spindle race question

Late 95 26X trailer: I have a ring on the axle spindle part#1 on the diagram. http://www.bearingbuddy.com/images/spindle.gif I believe this is a bearing buddy Spindo seal part. Should I remove this and go with the standard seals or purchase theirs? Once I am done rebuilding brakes/bearings I will no...

Re: reefing hooks

John,
My reef hook on my 96-26X is a inverted J-bolt that also pins the boom to the goose neck. Probably only reefed the main 10 times but it works and they are available at hardware store for a couple bucks.
