Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2024
Interesting that the cordless is lighter. I have 2 heavy corded buffers that wear my arms out. I totally understand the need for less weight. One of the WORST items to remove from surfaces is tree sap. I parked my small Force 5 boat under a pine tree once. Oy vey. What a chore to get that stuff off....

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2024
Nice work. It's hard to tell from photos, but your bottom paint doesn't look that bad. However, you've come this far. The starbrite hull cleaner works wonders. It's basically Muratic Acid like you get at the hardware store. Be careful using magic erasers. They can be very abrasive. I learned this us...

Re: Almost ready to float
Yes, remove the quick release. The PO must have thought that would make rigging faster. As mentioned, the risk is not worth saving 20 seconds of rigging time. You will need a pin (and ring ding) to attach it. BWY makes this nice big fat boy pin that is easy to hold and pin the forestay. It's what I ...

Re: Almost ready to float
That quick release looks janky to me. Also only one hole in the pin can't be good.
I bet if you simplify that setup the drum won't spin.

Re: Service suggestions
All seem like good items to replace.
2 years ago I replaced annodes. Learned a bit about annodes. There are different types for salt vs fresh water.
Mine looked fine after 10 years, but I replaced them anyway since I had them.
Also..maybe grease the motor pivot points and tilt.

Re: Portland Oregon area members?
C Bucks, This photo is stunning. https://i.postimg.cc/0K8vDrkf/IMG-2880.jpg I would like to make a water color of it someday. Would you mind if I interpret it? I like to ask permission before painting someone else’s work. The composition is perfect. Agreed. Can we have permission to add this photo ...

Re: Waxing a Trailer
That " fluid film " product looks very interesting. I'm thinking it would be ideal to spray INSIDE the trailer tubing. The aluminum trailer still has a steel tongue that would benefit from having this stuff sprayed inside where they typically rust. Interesting product. I may have to pick s...

Re: Waxing a Trailer
I don't know how to wax the aluminum trailer. But it does make sense to clean and perhaps that salt-away product probably makes sense.

The product is only ~$20 a can. Boat is still covered. I can't wait to try this stuff.

Re: MRS, what kind of block?
This is the block on my MSR, and I do not see any identifying numbers. https://i.postimg.cc/QVdKF683/IMG-2819.jpg That's it! My memory is failing. That's the block on mine also. Roger wasn't known to install top shelf hardware on our boats. Probably why Kurz has failed. I would replace it with a de...

Those "pucks" are sharp. I didn't know it was possible to have multiple colors in 3d printing.
I guess I have some learning to do before asking Santa for a printer.
