Re: Short tow with minivan

You will certainly have noticeably increased stopping distances.
If you drive defensively, are aware of distance between you and the vehicle in front, and just all around be a mensch, you will be fine.

Re: Short tow with minivan

Starscream's comments seem to be ignored. They are quite accurate, and should be considered when pulling your Mac. On the other hand, your choice of tow vehicle will do adequately, but it is a cr#pshoot when it comes to the potential insurance claim. Statistics from the National Highway Traffic and ...

Re: Sails/Spare Parts for Sale

Cam, In case you were not aware; the Classified section is up and working. That is the place to announce what is for sale. Since it is now a separate registration, you will have to register. Quoting Russ, You can browse without a login. However, to post or respond, you need to register. It's not con...

Re: What is this and where should I put it?

I added one, not for a spinaker, but a backup forestay. Just a single line from mast hound to bow pulpit in case the forestay fails. Me, too... like Russ did. I use it to haul up the spinnaker, but most of the time, it is just an additional forestay--just in case This is a great idea... I could sim...

Re: Nice review of a very nice sailing film

I also like the 1992 movie “Wind.”

My sons were 11 & 12 at the time. Now, twenty-eight and a half years later, they still groan, thinking about how much they hated it. :D

You do it in doable chewables, and learn along the way.

Re: Fiberglass ripped out from bow pulpit mounts. 26X

5200 is for repairs which you will never remove, what ever is being held.

If you suspect that sometime in the future you will need to unstick what you put together, use 4200.

Re: So I just bought a Mac X....

Wow! Ray has his own website. And merch! https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2200/7573/products/nice_aft_boating_hat_for_boaters_1800x1800.jpg I found out about that site last year, and purchased a couple of shirts from them. Nothing with the "Aft" imagery I have in mind. :D I named the boat for my w...

Re: Fiberglass ripped out from bow pulpit mounts. 26X

I don't claim to be an authority on fiberglass repair, so I won't touch that subject. I do question using an epoxy. There is a lot of flex in a fiberglass boat, and a cured epoxy is brittle. I would consider using 5200 instead. It will be as sturdy as an epoxy, but will not crack with any of the str...

Re: So I just bought a Mac X....

I like the crew hats.

I've been thinking about that for years; I just have not come up with anything tasteful for "Nice Aft", I'm looking for a design to go with the name. :D

Looking forward to see what you do for the captain and first officer. 8)
