Re: Tacking performance

I also bought the genoa track fairleads with cleats. A game changer if anyone beside you wants to sit in the cockpit. BWY has them. Other than that furling when you need it is irreplaceable.....KB I believe they are the same as Bill’s EZ-Cleats. Many of us have been using them for years. As you say...

Thanks John.

I was not expecting a reply from someone diametrically on the opposite side of the continent.

My :macm: is still wrapped up. As I sit here thinking, do :macm: s have cabin top tracks. I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember. Since I have never used cabin top tracks, I don't think :macm: s have them, only :macx: s. It's dark and cold outside, so I will check in the morning. https://i.postimg...

Re: HDPE to replace smoked acrylic above sink

Not being familiar with it, I looked it up. It seemed to be an ideal product. I went to this site. This site discusses HDPE. https://tangentmaterials.com/everything-to-know-about-high-density-polyethylene-sheets/ This part in particular struck me as important. “there are some possible considerations...

Re: Tacking performance

I believe the simplest explanation is when you tack, pay attention to your headsail. As you go through the tack, the sail will luff, and then begin to fill again. At the moment you see the sail begin to fill again, quickly steer into the wind, all the while prepared to counter steer quickly to stay ...

Re: Tacking performance

Also, when you tack, don’t release the head sail until it starts to fill again. And in an M, always be going more than 2mph (1.7knots)

In a Mac you can cheat, motor sail. If you have your motor at 1000 RPM’s, no one will know.

Re: The actual odds of being hit by lightning

I started reading these latest postings on this thread, and then stopped. The fact of the matter is nothing works; nothing includes grounding to the water, diffusers, etc. Nothing :!: Lightning is so powerful it overloads everything you can put up to redirect it. It goes where it wants. Check the we...

Re: Annapolis Sailboat show April 26-28, 2024 Anyone else going?

Y.B.

We won’t be at the show, but we will be doing a Chesapeake cruise from June 18 ~ July 5. We will be crisscrossing. Havre De Grace, Rock Hall, St. Michaels, Chesapeake Beach, Narrows Point, Inner Harbor, Havre De Grace.

You say you have relocated, are you near the Chesapeake?

Whew❗️

That was worse than waiting for an incoming tide to lift you off of a sandbar. I got frustrated just reading all of it.

You should write a book. Title it BUREAUCRACY :!:
