Re: Excellent, *MUST READ* Article on Drowning...
To tell the truth, I thought your article was one of the most important things I've seen on here considering we are all on the water in our boats and see a lot of people in the water and so thought it should not be put out to pasture so quickly. I was just keeping it in the forum eye. I go to Hawaii...

I fell off while sailing a Hobie 14 in the winter without a wetsuit and went into freezing 45 degree water. Instant freezing of all parts of the body icluding breathing. I know there is a Polar Bear club that does this every year but they are expecting the cold.

Re: backstay question
Mine is loose as a goose. I like it that way so I can get the mast easy up. I talked with Bill at Macgregor and he said (and you can call and ask) that the back stay is not even needed.

Minny's used marine store in Newport beach is a good place to check out.I go there first before I go to WM and 75% of the time I find what I want at a fraction of the cost at gold plated WM stuff. Our Walmart in Huntington Beach has a pretty good section of basic marine stuff.

Re: Need Spreader/ Throu-the hull depth finder
I used plumbers putty to push the transducer into. It has worked for 10 years now. I put the transducer below one of the wood storage lids in the cabin area under the cockpit. I put the screen on a swing out arm on the left inside as you enter the cabin on my X.

Re: Mast Anchor Light Installation

It lights up my cockpit so when I arrive back at night I can see. I also hoist up the mast a light that goes on a personel wa...

Re: Engine Flush Bag for boats in water
I saw a Bar-B-Q cover at Home depot that I think would work. It was for a tall round Bar-B-Q. Also maybe an army canvas duffel bag might work. I have also seen large sail bags that would work. I used the flush bag twice so far and it really needs a pole to attach it from the boat. While the engine i...

I used the new flush bag yesterdsay and saw a lot of grime come out of the engine. I was using the ear muffs for the last 10 years. I used alot of Salt Away with the bag.
