Re: How do you store your enclosure panels?

Hello,
To help preserve our enclosure panel vinyl windows we neatly roll them up and slide them into 4" white thin wall PVC pipe. They are stored in the rear berth along the starboard side.

Re: Mac Soundoff / Radio Check -K...

Hello,
Yeah that's funny, I've been a member since before the internet.

My join date says 2004 but if I remember correctly everybody's start date was changed to the day Heath set up the "new" BB.

Re: Downwind to Indian key

Hello, I changed out the snap clasp at the outer end of the whisker pole in favor of a pointed end which I stick through the clew eyelet. When I'm single handing and the weather gets up I can loosen the jib / genoa sheet and the pole just drops to the deck. I can then furl the sail and worry about t...

Re: Cruise to Desolation Sound this summer

Hello, We are definitely getting up there this year, Desolation Sound has been on my list for a while now. We too have had our plans go awry for the last 3 years. Right now (with too many assumptions) it looks like end of August through the second week of Sept. Who knows what the future will bring b...

Re: New powersailor

Hello, In the early years I would swoop by the keel boats at the end of the day with my aluminum jenny. Occasionally sailors would come by and say they had never seen a sailboat go so fast. Later tied up at a dock I got a comment from the owner of a 76' sloop who was talking about his yacht. "She mo...

Re: V-berth mattress pad options?

Hello,
We opted to replace the foam with sturdier stuff. Way better BUT that was back when I was in my 50's. Nowadays we add a memory foam pad cut to size. My hips thank me. :)

Re: Vic's autopilot

Hi Victor,
Yeah, I'm still patiently waiting. Life got in my way too + age related problems with the trailer. I am hoping everything works out for an extended sail up into Canada, Desolation Sound maybe.

If only my stars will align...

Re: Leaking front windows on the 26M

Hello,
The windows on our 95X are held in with double sided closed cell mounting tape. After removing the windows I cleaned the old stuff out and remounted with 3M mounting tape. I then back filled the gap with black marine silicone. The repair has lasted for 12 years.

Good luck.

Re: Engine not starting – Ground Fault?

Hello, Did you check the voltage at the battery with the lights turned on? The reason I ask, it's possible the battery has voltage potential with no load but then drops when a load is applied. You can put your Volt meter across any cable to see if there is a voltage drop in between. For example conn...

Hello,
Yes, I don't fuel up until I am at my destination. Like Anacortes then drive to Washington Park to launch.

Re: Boom tent? Yes, no, or other...

No boom tent per se' BUT yes there is a tarp over the boom when parked for the winter. When on the water we have a full enclosure and it goes up when it's raining, at anchor or not, goes up at anchor in the evening because we get dew at night, comes down for sailing cuz' the admiral never wants to s...
