Re: Water in cabin floor only when towing

Hello, That drain hole was added to the MacX because earlier models could accumulate a lot of water in the bilges and not know about it. Chances are there is water sloshing around in the bilges and finding it's way into that center section. The bilges are not interconnected and water will not drain ...

Re: My new mods.

Hello,
I noticed you removed the deck support tube. Has that softened the deck when walking above? can you feel it give way under your weight?

IIRC crabbing at night is illegal in the San Juan Islands.

Re: Where's Bill from Boats for Sale

Hello,
Bill has been on this board for many years and was always a fair and honest guy. I don't know what's going on however.

Re: Charging batteries with shore power question

Oh that's funny, in one breath you speak of cholesterol & fat crap that a bunch of scientists, funded by food corps, is a bad thing. In the next you tout the scientific climate change naysayers that are mostly funded by the oil industry. Naysayers are very much in the minority but they are better fu...

Re: Charging batteries with shore power question

I refuse to change because of a lie. That's stupid. I will change based on what is true and what can be proven. And I think the electric motor is superior to the internal combustion engine - it's just science and numbers, not politics. "Global Warming" is just politics - it's stupid. I believe in s...

Re: Charging batteries with shore power question

My view is, sure climate will change always has BUT human activity is accelerating it's effects. What are you going to do? Be stupid and keep doing the same stuff and kill off your grandkids or do what we can do to try and help them survive? It's about the future, giving a damn about the people that...

Re: Charging batteries with shore power question

We are doomed, doomed I say! Which do you think will get us first? 1. Global warming; huge weather events, loss of arable land, melting of the polar ice caps / engine of the oceans = starvation? 2. Global conflict over last remaining resources like oil, water or just because we are stupid that way? ...

Re: Charging batteries with shore power question

Hello, Oh guys, you couldn't be more wrong. Electric cars in my neck of the woods run off of hydro and wind. Gas cars waste 75% of the energy they are consuming, sorry, just not very thermally efficient. There are ~ 37 KWh in a gallon of gas, a Nissan Leaf will travel 150 miles on 37 KWh. The Model ...

Re: 26 X Clanking Centerboard

Hello,
Here is my solution.

I like having the board down. It reduces rocking significantly and I like the stability when I'm up on deck or just walking around, way more stable.

I always thought it might cool to put a small thin skeg on the leading edge of the X's swing keel.

Yeah - Electric Cars! The Licences Plate on the car means: "F"-YOU OPEC in Hoboken talk. I have seen other plates similar. Byopec, zeroe, ect. People do not realize there is no such thing as zero emissions. You are trying to tell me that the tires you are riding on will never wear out? The batterie...

Re: Which Chain?

Hello, I use a black and red sharpie to mark the rode. I draw a wide mark all around the rode for each 25'. A red mark is 100'. So it goes 25 = | , 50 = || , 75 = ||| , 100 = | , 125 = | | , 150 = | | | Doesn't matter how much is out I can always read it and it doesn't weaken the rode, foul or cut t...
