Re: M19 newest owner- why are there holes in my boat?

Greetings CaptnBlynd, I used to own a Mac19 for about 8 years, only sold it to upgrade to the 26X (added 2 kids to the crew). It was so unique back then that I got boarded EVERY time the Wildlife or Coast Guard came by me. http://www.enctrader.com/hardtlefamily/images/sailhistory8.jpg Here are some ...

Re: Adding genny winches

Winches in aft corners ~ Made this mod to enable single handling of the boat. It is a 5 inch winch and a cleat (they don't sell the 5 inch anymore). I had to cut holes in the back and add access panels to bolt down the winches. http://www.enctrader.com/hardtlefamily/KnotShorePics/cornerwinch.jpg htt...

Re: 2014 NC Sail Piratefest

APSAUNDERS: Well... this is not quite that kind of event... and it is not just a MacGregor Event... it is an open sailing event for anyone and everyone. You are welcome to come visit, and everyone absolutely loves to show tips and tricks for their boat (and we do have lots of MacGregors there). But ...

Re: if you have bought the cockpit enclosure ? was it worth

I have the Blue Water Yachts enclosure and it is WORTH EVERY DAMB PENNY! Here is why: 1. The dodger itself will keep you, the captain from getting soaked with waves and wind sprayed water. 2. For any kind of foul weather it is a must! 3. I can sail with the head sail (150 Genoa jib on a furler) with...

Re: Swing Keel is gone

Hey I done that! From my log: So the TV station asked if I could use my boat to go film video of a capsized fishing boat... Hmmm... work at the desk or work on the boat.. duh 8) . So I gassed up the boat and went and launched at Oriental with one of our reporters. I did warn the reporter that it wil...

Re: Best sail for light winds on a 26X?

I have 2 kids that grew up taking trips with me and the boat for that past 10 years... one thing I learned: Do not use the main if heeling scares them. I have spent many a trip just using the Genoa jib with the kids... and furling/reefing it to keep the heeling down. It proved good speed and very li...

Re: Stainless vs Aluminum Propellers

My motor came with a SS prop... and i knew there was no way I was keeping that on.... especially the way I drive. http://www.enctrader.com/hardtlefamily/KnotShorePics/100_2401.JPG I keep a spare aluminum prop on board at all times... and have used it several times. It is easier to change a prop on t...

Re: New Glass2 on Knot Shore

Hi bouys and gulls, - I do not use it on the non-skid surfaces (excpet the one between the two top windows). - I use it on every smooth surface... the top, sides and hull. (I use rustoleum on the bottom! 8) ) - I used to do all the windows... but it will make it blurry looking out from the inside. N...

Re: Where do use/store your generator?

I created a platform on the aft that sits over the rudder controls and I can strap the generator to the wall and still run it. It is also close to the shore power connection on the boat so I can just plug in the Generator with a short cord. http://www.enctrader.com/hardtlefamily/KnotShorePics/Genera...
