Early Model 26 M

I am looking ay buying a used 26M, but is an early release. It was suposedly manufactured in Mar 03, which would have to make it one of the first run of hulls.

Does anyone know of any issues wiht these first boats. Anything that was changed right away or needs to be changed?

Jeff - thanks for the reply, I have an Evinrude Fict on a powerboat so I thought the E-Tech would have the same injection system, glad they got rid of the seperate tank. I really like the motor and the service from Bombardier, which is why I am seriously considering the E-Tech for an M. Seems like t...

Bobby T - I was considering the E Tech 75/90 also, but it has a seperate oil tank that needs to be located somewhere close to the motor. I heard that the Tohatsu/Nissan has the oil tank in the motor cover, is that right ? Also, what do you think about the noise level on these motors, the E-Tech is s...

Bobby - I understand your logic, but why do you recommend an early model X over the late models. Seems like you would want to at least go '98 or later to get the new rudders. Are there other issues such as stronger transom on the older models?

thanks for the input. Of couse all boats pound somewhat in these conditions, but it sounds like the 26X is not significantly worse than any powerboat.

M vs X

I am considering purchasing a late model X and fixing it up, or really stretching my budget and getting a new M. My question is if anyone has had experience with both the 26X and the 26M in choppy water, and does the new deeper V on the 26M really make a big difference. The concept seems good, but i...
