Re: Tattoo Yachts Website Issues

Well if you kept up with modern computer stuff like facebook you all would know that it has taken the Sharps 2 years to secure a factory to make the 22 in. It took them way longer than they thought it would, but as of 30 June this year they have bought premises at St Lucie County Florida and are set...

Re: How are you supposed to sail in this?

There is an AB method for variable wind direction and it involves keeping the main sheeted... This is sort of what I ended up doing after I furled the spin. I have never seen such variable winds in such a short time. Most annoying, you would just get the boat nicely trimmed and sailing farley flat,...

How are you supposed to sail in this?

Went out for a sail today wind was coming from almost every point on the compass from 0 -21 knots :x Had the spinnaker up at one point, went from a nice 4 knot north easterly to a 15 knot westerly in a blink of the eye. Top down roller furler turned out to be the best boat buck I have ever spent 8) ...

Re: Sail log

I use a smartphone app Safe Trx http://www.safetrxapp.com/ best thing about it is you can log on and off with the Coast Guard and the app auto updates your position to them. Also has a website that keeps a record of your journeys. Unfortunately I don't think it is available in the USA.

Re: Drop in shower/washdown solution

250lbs may be OK when the bladder is full but at less than full thats a lot of weight sloshing around side to side, while it would be sitting low in the boat I would think it would effect stability somewhat It does to a good extent at least in my :macm: 8) It gives a little bit better weight to pun...

Re: Ais and chart plotter combo.

My next electronics project will be a Raspberry Pi running OpenCPN with a dAISy AIS Receiver I hope to build the complete unit for under $200 but it will only be a back up to my Garmin Plotter and a GME AIST120

Re: Replacing Standing Rigging

Mine will swage 3/26 which is the lifeline size I need but not sure if it works on the lifeline fittings or not. Not sure what you mean by lifeline fittings they are the same as any other rigging using a thimble and swage any swaging tool should work. My tool looks very similar to yours and my life...

Re: Replacing Standing Rigging

While I do like an excuse to buy a tool, it really needs to have more than one use to be worthwhile. I purchased my swaging tool to redo my lifelines when I fitted rear cockpit seats. Since then I have used it on many other jobs such as bike ant-theft cables, new furler and forestay, new mast raisi...
