2nd axle drawing

Post by rfm1992 »

A while back I saw a drawing of where to place the hangers for a 2 axle setup. I've tried to search for it but no luck. Anyone know of it or a link to it.
I'll also need info on what axle and springs to get.

Thanks

Thanks Chip...Just what I was looking for. :)

I think I'll skip the extra brakes, my trailer seems to do fine on our last 2000 mile round trip trip.

If you skip the second set of brakes, make sure the brakes are on the rear axle. Otherwise, due to the geometry of the tandem axle system, braking can cause wheel hop on the trailer. A good explanation of why this happens used to be on the Champion website; if you can't find it I can explain.

IMO once you've decided on the second axle, the additional cost to add the second set of brakes is well justified.
