NC Pirate Sail 2015
All right ya jelly boned thumb suckin' crud buckets! I have been waylay-ed into being the Commodore of this here event... so listen up!
The date for 2015 are: September 18,19,20
Website: http://www.enctrader.com/ncsail/
For those who may be joining the sail for the first time the itinerary is as follows:
Friday: arrival with launching at Taylors Creek Boat Ramp, 2370 Lennoxville Road, Beaufort, N.C. Docking at Beaufort Docks 500 Front Street, Beaufort, N.C, and Dinner will be at the Boardwalk Cafe (same as last year) starting at 6pm.
Please PM me or post here how many of your crew will be at Dinner on Friday... and I mean now ya Rum swillin' bunch of scum!
For those that get to the docks before 1:30pm on Friday:
Double Decker Bus Tour of Beaufort Historic Sites
Hop aboard and see Beaufort's Historic District from atop a vintage 1967 English double-decker bus while local narrators entertain with the lively legends of Beaufort's past.
Bus leaves at 1:30pm, $10 per adult, $5 per kiddie. (I'll be on it, so ye should be too!... only Pirates allowed!)
Saturday: Set sail for Cape Lookout (time will be discussed after the Friday night dinner). Once we arrive at Cape Lookout you are free to go to the beach and enjoy each others company. Bring your own main coarse to grill and a dish to share. A bonfire will follow (that's why we need firewood). Any one with a musical instrument will be given free drinks in exchange for some hearty pirate/sailing tunes!
Sunday: Return sail to Beaufort and the boat ramp.
I have all the grills and charcoal and one table. We need firewood for the bonfire.
Report from the Sailmaster: Tides is high at midnight and only 3 1/2 feet. Moon is 1/4 and setting at midnight.
In the Tradition of Pirate Sails of the past there well be prizes awarded to those dressed appropriately for a PIRATE Event! So proper attire will be needed FRIDAY at the DOCK AND RESTAURANT ya bilge rats!
If you want to be on the dock list send me an electronic piece of parchment (no black spots!) like this:

Re: NC Pirate Sail 2015
There was a very nice "Gypsie Rose Pirate" set-up at the Chicago Boat Show.
Kids could fire a cannon, play pirate, get their pictures taken, etc. See below.

Re: NC Pirate Sail 2015
Thought I would throw this out there in the "pirate" thread to plant a seed for an additional event next spring.
Hampton Va has a Blackbeard Festival the last weekend in May each year, its supposedly the 3rd largest in the country. Its a pretty cool event with pirate stuff going on all weekend including awesome fireworks.
http://www.hampton.gov/index.aspx?NID=2008
It generally coincides with the Southern Bay race week which about 100 boats come in for and is fun to watch.
There is lots of anchor space for shallow draft Macs, but the docks get pretty busy.
Just throwing this out there for an additional pirate event for next year, not trying to take away from the NC event.
