Finally

I got my 26M last week, still waiting for my 50HP Honda motor

. Since this is my first boat I want to do some preparation before I will put her on the water. I have heard on this board about bottom wax VS 721 made by Aurora. When I did a search on it I found that some of you planed on using it. I would like to hear what was your experience with this product or any other Aurora products.
I plan to keep my boat in a slip on a fresh water lake, Bear Lake in Utah ( cold climate ).
Thank you for any responces. By the way I have learned a lot from you guys reading your messages on this board for last 2 years.

You should be fine in fresh water. I had mine in a saltwater slip and eventually got some barnacles. They were easy to scrape off. Here is what I would recommend. In applying it, put it on thick so you have good coverage.......it takes a while for your applicator to become saturated and it seems to go on kind of streaky. You should also use the Boat Scrub product to prep the hull before applying it.......this gets rid of old waxes and makes the surface clean. I let the wax stay on for 24 hours before I take the first coat off. Wait 24 hours and apply it again.......repeat......once you have two coats on, let it cure for 48 hours before dunking. You should take it for a full speed run once a week to clean it off and a wet sponge is all you need to wipe down the sides to get rid of the water line.

I bought the Aurora hull cleaner. The Starbrite hull cleaner works better. Actually I was very surprised how well the Starbrite stuff worked. It cleaned some nasty stains off the deck also.
I also purchased the bottom wax and NewGlass II. I will be applying the Aurora bottom wax. Glad to get feedback on it.
Using a buffer, I have buffed my boat with Turtle Wax rubbing and polishing compounds. It looks so good that with waxing I don't think I'll need to use the NewGlass II.

The Starbright is Oxyalic Acid where is the Aurora Hull Cleaner is a blend of Muratic Acid and others. I tried the Algae Stripper.......it was okay but I had better luck with just plain muratic acid on getting the glue spots off. Aurora Boat Shine is great wax in my opinion.

Where are you purchasing Aurora bottom wax ? I do not find this on West or Boat U.S. site.
