Vienna to the Black Sea and further...?
Finally started from Vienna last Tuesday.
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 850e4d.jpg
Passed Bratslava ans Budapest -3 European Capitals in 2days - not bad.
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 575e08.jpg
Moved into Serbia on Saturday Morning. Border control was really easy! Friendly police, customs and border officials. Did not really expect that.
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... ca44fb.jpg
Great weather so far.

Plannig to stay in Belgrade till tomorow and then moving East again. The Thejo does great, no complaints no damages and a fuel consumption of 2l/hour,
Greetings (I hope all those Fotos work)
Wolfgang

A last view on Belgrade Marina http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 7cd143.jpg
And I've left off towards the Iron Gate. Here the first gorge passed http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 6d032d.jpg
The depth is not bad http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... fa960c.jpg
Sunset at Ram http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 6d2742.jpg
Then anchoring with King Decebal watching http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 9d9f98.jpg
Djerdap I http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 8efd05.jpg (the first sluice of the Iron Gate) and Djerdap II http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 9cdd7d.jpg are quite impressive.
Arrived in Bulgaria now -more East to come

Another overnight stay on a Danube island
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 02bd80.jpg
The bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... f3a8c0.jpg
And here something went terribly wrong

Tomorrow I will clear into Romania and make the first steps into the Danube Delta
Greetings

Re: Vienna to the Black Sea and further...?
Finally left the golden beaches of the Bulgarian Danube behind
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 31cd41.jpg
And moved into Romania. Had a few good days inthe Bulgarian countryside, met very frendly and openminded people (speaking their language would have helped, but not speaking it did not matter also)

Re: Vienna to the Black Sea and further...?
Interesting day on the lower Danube. Took salute from the cranes in Galati,
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 63d7e7.jpg
met the first lot of seagoing vessels on the Danube
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... 4957e6.jpg
and finally came alongside the steamship Republicca in Tulcea where Captain proudly showed me this 130year old beauty.
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g32 ... a4985f.jpg
Tomorrow it's off into the Daube Delta.
Greetings

Re: Vienna to the Black Sea and further...?
Arrived in Constanta on Sunday evening after a challenging 70nm on the Black Sea. Forecast promised 6kn of wind, it turned out to be 25kn Southwind and 2m short waves from the east for the last 6 hours of the trip was no fun so I decided to end the journey here, Will take the Thejo out of the water on Friday and drive her home.
