Ontario Sailors Rendezvous 2013

Toronto at night from the 'Wall'.

We (Crikey!) arrived several days early to take in the Port Credit Buskerfest. It looks like we'll have to do a repeat next year because we probably only managed to see a third of the performers. These two were set up in the venue just outside our marina entrance gate. Big crowds everywhere.


The only disappointment occurred when Johns boat (Highlander) went out of action with a stuck fuel injector. Not a happy time for the most amazing boat in our lineup - believe me, totally amazing (!). Nonetheless, our brave scotty bucked it up and took it all in stride and bunked (spooned) it in with Geoff (Beene) to the islands and back. Next year's the thing! Good on you mate!

What I want to know is, where did you get those stern rail seats? BWY doesn't offer them for the boats.

Actually, I went to Genco to get them but they hired out Dowsar to make and install them! (Genco was making our dodger and had to work it around the seats)
So yeah, Dowsar does them....we had them installed last summer!

I think it's one of the best things we added to the boat!

All started years ago when I would shoot pics and video of John and I sailing on Pegasus and members of this fine forum saying that we were doing things with our Mac they wish they had the balls... (or stupidity depending on who you ask) to do

They said they would love to come meet us and go sailing together

So we decided to make it a yearly invite

Can't wait till next year

These meet ups make for a great photo opp for those of us that would normally never get the chance to see our boats sailing the high seas

I think it's one of the best things we added to the boat!

Get this - so does the admiral! I showed her that pic just now, she says, "How much?", I say "A thousand.", she says "Each?", I say "No, for the pair.", and she says "Buy them!"

My concern is that the backstay seems to be shoved off to the side of the seat. My enclosure has a soft rubber clamshell opening with a zipper so I can put it on with the backstay in place, and it doesn't look like it will all fit with those seats there.

Gotta give it some thought.

Don't mean to take this off the rails, so I'll start a new thread if it goes any further, and if anyone seems interested.

Yes, in that pic it looks WAY to the side, more so than ours did. Bryan ended up moving it to the front of the seat and it's much better. We're actually considering drilling a hole or making a little area for it on the seat itself, and then it would be perfect. Really a very small and fixable problem:-)

Get the seats, you won't regret it! It's fantastic with the canvas at the back, gives you a shady area to sit when out in the sun!

Wow you guys had some great fun, sorry I was a day too late this year. Im going to have coordinate my georgian bay trip to be on a different week than MMOR. Well John and I couldn't get his engine started. went for a sail again this afternoon... Very light wind...we were going to put john's drifter on but I need another mast hound higher up the mast. We're in port credit tonight...then I'm off sailing to the CNE with the boys tomorrow. If anyone wants to drop by we're here in port credit tonight and John will be here during the day tomorrow...I can only entertain John so much

Keep those pictures and videos coming...it'll give John and I something to do tonight

Planning these meet ups so far in advance, one can never tell what the weather will be like

The weather can make or break this event

We had the best weather I have seen around here for that many days in a row

It was perfect!

I hope we get that lucky again next year

I will be posting some date suggestions as soon as I can, most likely in the late fall

Glad you enjoyed the pics and vids as much as we all enjoyed taking them
