Hi all it's Marty Jackson (finding41).
I've started a new bare boat charter business in the North Channel with my MacGregor 26Ds. They will be in Little Current. (Not sure what marina yet.)
I'm looking for any and all advice I can get about my website and social media stuff. So far I have a Twitter page, a wordpress blog, Facebook thing and a youtube channel.
I know I've come to the right site to ask for constructive and un-biasd opinions. lol!
I've started this company to help other sailors get up and cruise the NC. (If you haven't sailed up there now there is only $1000 between doing it and not.)
The business is called Finding Peace Sail Charters.
I purposely didn't post a link. Please tell me how hard my sites are to find.
Thanks in advance!
(Heath: There must be something wrong with the PM function here... I've tried a # of times to PM you and another moderator to get a response but nothing....?)

Thanks fro the encouragement old puddle pirate.
Wow I was expecting a couple of pages of comments. (Is this the mac sailors site...?) I've been busy all week working on the boats and didn't have time to check in.
I have been building fibreglass forms so I can make dagger boards and a few other things. I expect I will need some replacement DB's because it's kind of rocky in the North Channel. I have Easter Monday off work and will be doing some butyl bedding of everything that I didn't get to last year and gel-coat repairs to Topiary. A PO installed a traveller and I don't think they filled the holes from ware the main sheet used to attach... I'm going to fix ware the coax and wires go through the to of the cabin too. A rubber seal was used previously. It probably worked for a year or so...
I'll be glassing my laz hatch tonight as well as the mold for the trim for the motor well area. I've made a modification to it so it doesn't get wrecked when you install the motor.
Off for hossenferer dinner with the family. It is Easter Sunday after all.
If by chance you Google hossenferer, be sure to watch the video that comes up.

You should consider filling, closing, and then unscrewing the handles for the ballast tank so you can ensure that they're always full and correctly ballasted.

I'll let Heath know you are trying to reach him, I'm sure you would like to buy an ad...
Check out Colonel King (c130king ) who runs a charter down in MS. Different boats but same stuff.
I think, and that's a stretch for me, your target market isn't big on social media. A good website is where I would put 90% of my money to start. I'll check yours out and reply.
First rule, never put music on it.

Thanks! I can use all the help I can get!
Here is a link to my Google+ site. https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/101650651 ... rter/posts
I've got a wordpress blog too. fpsailingcharters.wordpress.com (Both yet to be linked to my website... )
I'm not sure about my landing page. I'm getting visitors but no emails or bookings.
Advertising... I've blown the budget until I get a couple charters booked. (I'm not a big believer in banner adds. But with the proliferation of them on this site it may be ok.
I'm doing some gel-coat repairs tomorrow and removing some hardware to bed it with Butyl tape.
There is always a ton of little things that need to be done. I wish spring would come so I can work without gloves and a coat on.
Thanks!
Marty
