Loved the video and the catchy song. Amy that was awesome. A couple of ex- CFLers can sing too.

Enjoyed the video. living on the front door of Disneyworld as I do, I had not figured Saskatchewan as a likely musical entertainment resource, but that just goes to show what I know. :o Congrats. Waiting for the next release. Arrrrgh! :D

Great video from a fellow Saskatchewanderer!!! I am based out of Saskatoon and spend a lot of time on the "dief." I made a video about Elbow and you will probably be able to see your Mac before it was even your Mac. Take a look and maybe we'll see you down on the lake :) Here is the link to the video:

Hi Tony.

We sail out of Palliser Regional Park near Riverhurst, so not in your video.

Nice video, though!

Hey Herschel.

Probably the most famous musician from Saskatchewan is Joni Mitchell.

You may have heard of her.

Yes, I am a music "nerd". I was sort of in the music scene in high school and college then...sea duty, Vietnam, three kids, divorce, remarriage, step-kids, grad. school, tons of work, more grad school. Now retirement. :P At least I got Frank Sinatra down pat, maybe Dean Martin, and Elvis, then it just sort of fades into a musical blur. I watch Jeopardy pretty often, and when they get to music questions, I am a total loss. Now, who is Joni Mitchell? Help out a seriously musically handicapped fellow sailor. :)

Ah, yes...the "Both sides now" gal. I remember hearing that in the background of my life back when I lived in San Diego, trying to get my feet down as a budding new Navy psychologist in a boot camp environment, raising three small boys and dealing with the craziness of the '70's in Southern California while on active duty. Thanks for the tutorial. Tip of the hat to Saskatchewan, but I'll leave the '70's in my rearview mirror. That was my Lightning and Sabot sailing days! Glad to have moved on.

My 26X appears in a news story...

Post by Tomfoolery »

Not worth starting a thread for, but my :macx: is right behind the talking head in this news story about the locally famous lift bridge that's being closed in less than two weeks for repairs. It's famous because it's the only one that's both skewed to the canal, and inclined. And it's over 100 years old. And in the Guinness Book of World Records. But I digress. :|

https://www.rochesterfirst.com/news/loc ... s-traffic/

It'll be closed for over a year. What a mess that'll make. But presumably it will be in the 'up' position, as there's a lot of snowbird boat traffic heading for the Hudson River in the fall.

Our 26M (Y.B.NORMAL) made it on the front page of our local newspaper (Appleton Post Crescent) several years ago when they abruptly closed the lock on the Fox River going from Lake Winnebago to Little Lake Butte des Mortes, trapping powerboats downstream on the river. The photographer was apparently was told to go out and take a picture of "any boat on the river" as there's no reason for a sailboat to go through the lock into Little Lake BTM. :D

Watching the Briar, I was reminded by all these farming commercials of the original music video in this post, and i thought it would be worth a bump for all you newbies.

Bump.
