New winch for 2007 Al trailer

Post by John Christian »

Anyone know the capacity of the oem winch? Im looking at 1 that matches exsiating bolt pattern thats rated at 2500 lbs. That seems sufficient but i thought I would ask the experts before ordering.

I find the stock trailer winch is to small.
So I graded up with 1050kg 2gear winch, cheap stile.

Whats the problem with drilling a new whole?

1050 kg sounds comparable to 2500 lbs, and yes double tooth.
Seems like an upgrade over original and no drilling

My 1999 OEM steel :macx: trailer has a Shelby 5404 single-speed winch, which is 1200 lb [545 kg] rated. Seems plenty strong enough for my boat, but it's not made any more, so there's that. :|

I replaced my winch with a Fulton F2. Now I have a 2005 steel trailer, but I am sure you can find out if there is a different configuration of mounting screws.

If you have the stock trailer with the ledder watch the the crank is at the right side.

I didnt watch this during ordering so I couldn mount it.
Had lock becouse I could change all gears so the crank looked at the right side finally
