Well, I went down the rabbit hole tonight reading all about different types of sail cloth, cuts, etc.

:o and :?

Now I kinda want to get a radial cut sail with either Warp Drive or Hydranet (I don't want a laminate - mildew etc) instead of the more typical crosscut Dacron. I'm not sure if I'm getting suckered by marketing stuff or if the extra $ will actually be worth it. Some folks seem to think that the radial's will hold their shape longer (plus better shape to begin with), thereby paying for the extra cost in having to replace the sail less often.

(Plus the radial's look cool. And I might even splurge and get a 'logo' on our jib of a stylized mountain bluebird, which is what we are going to rename our boat to this year.)

I also found another local-ish loft (in BC), Precision Sails, and have asked them for a quote too.

I'm not sure a radial cut sail will give you much more go or stretch much less, remember these are cruising boats so getting the inth of performance out of it isn't the key factor. The radial cut should give you slightly better sail shape but the question is at what cost?
