X vs M Genoa

Got some tears in the genoa yesterday in high winds, will have to see if the sail loft can fix it. AS i was looking through my assortment of extras from the PO I saw the sail bag for the genoa as being for an M. It got me to thinking, are they the same size? I sure have issue sometimes getting it to cross over in a tac.
