Re: Mast support

Thanks for the suggestion. I did find it (hopefully) under the heading of "railings". I'll wait for BWY to get back with shipping details and confirmation that they are the parts.

Regards

Gary

Mast support

I have a 1996 :macx: with the mast support coming from the starboard side behind the lift up seat in the outboard well area. Whilst this may be useful for a hoist to bring thins into the boat (when the mast is up) it is way too far back and flexible for travelling and is subject to twisting when the...

Geordie Bay - Renamed MacGregor Cove

My wife and I had planned it for a few days then confirmation on "Seabreeze' said the conditions were good to go to Rotto for the overnight trip on the long weekend. Checking out the charts of Rotto Geordie Bay was going to offer the best protection from the overnight South Easterlies, so off w...

Re: more than 1900kg in the MacGregor Trailor

I believe the reason we only get a 1900Kg trailer is not the trailer itself but the weight bearing capacity of the tyres. For the record I have a single axle trailer and pay careful attention to the tyre pressure to ensure it is at 50psi.

I'm back from holiday. Let me know if you want a sail this weekend (26/27 Feb).

Re: Wanted, MacGregor trial sail in Perth

Rick

This Saturday afternoon (12 Feb) I could take you out from Ocean Reef for a spin. I am racing/sailing on a different boat on the morning and if the race finishes around lunch as it is scheduled to do, I should be OK for putting the :macx: in by 2-2:30. Let me know if this suits.

We'll look forward to seeing you over here. Clear warm waters and clear skies, with predictable winds...what more could you ask for?

With a minimum order of 50 :? I doubt we'd see too many hit the water around here.

Re: Wanted, MacGregor trial sail in Perth

Rick,

when were you hoping to go for a sail. I'm in Perth, (Mullaloo) and have a :macx: 26x. Depending on availability and of course weather conditions I could tee up a trial for you.

Re: importing a second hand Mac 26 from USA

Go with a roll on roll off. You don't need to dismantle (or angle grind) any part of the trailer. It also means you are ready to tow away once the boat arrives rather than having to drag the boat out on it's axles (wheels need to be removed for height clearance).

Re: Mercury Bigfoot issues

I had a similar problem (maybe even the same problem) with the Merc Bigfoot 50. I had set the idle speed whilst out of the water with the ear muffs on to provide the water supply. This all worked beautifully on the trailer but as soon as I put it in the water it would idle nicely (albeit a little sl...

Re: Stuck Centerboard/Am I having fun yet/when does fun start

I had a similar problem on my :macx: with a stuck keel when I first bought it (second hand). I finished up taking the keel right out (whilst on the trailer. To do this remove the hanger nut from the inside then gently tap the stainless bold that you have revealed. Once clear of the centreboard cavit...
