Brianhar: I can say that were I live--landlocked Idaho, we have quite a large Mac racing contigent. I am the only one with an M, but we have an assortment of X's an D's. There are also Cats, J boats, and every now and then a Trimaran. In terms of a single sailing class the Mac's are the largest grou...

Correct ALX357. By the way, lubing the drum did the trick. Went out on the lake today and had no problems furling the jib from every point of sail Even when the jib was loaded under 7+ knots on a beam reach the jib would furl. I presume this is what it was supposed to do when bought from the factory...

Highlander: The line did/would pinch in the drum, but this was a function of the silver drum binding against the black plastic top/bottom pieces. Once it was lubed with Tri-Flow and a bit of grease, the binding went away and the furling line spins off and on with no problems. Still, the idea of hav...

It gets pinched between the silver drum and the bottom of the black plastic drum. It will also pinch at the top between the two screws that hold the plastic fo...

New Furler

Thanks all for the feedback, this site is great. Nothing like having instant feedback on problems. When this problem started I had the rigging rechecked by IdaSailor (since I live down the road from them), and they said it looks fine. I did have them add a custom carbon fiber cup at the top of the j...

New Furler--HELP it won't furl

Hi All, I have a 08 :macm: with Roger's new jib furler, but for the life of me and my admiral we cannot get it to furl in higher winds (10 +knots). This is the furler that has the "open drum", basically 4 bolts holdng the top and bottom portion of the drum (wheras the CDI is enclosed with ...

Congrats. We are picking up "Balikai" from BWY next Saturday. I got the slower white hull, though. 8) I notice you are from Bozeman, MT. Where do you do most of your sailing? We are just south of you in Boise, ID and are looking for other areas to sail outside of ID.

Fair winds
