I received a safety recall notice for my 2008 26M with a 60 hp Evinrude E-TEC. The vapor separator needle valve needed replacement. I took it to West Coast Marine for service. Just an FYI for anyone with a 2008-2010 40-65 HP outboard. The notice stated "could result in a fire or explosion".

I would follow the engine manual for winterization. At the very least you should buy 2-4 cyc fuel conditioner, mix it with your gas, connect a hose to the engine, and run the engine for 5-10 minutes.
