Re: Bottom Paint
Hi ,I've applied coppercoat antifouling to our 26M and am extremely happy with the results. we live in Tasmania and the boat is moored in salt water. we launched the boat in September last year and their is minimal fouling, absolutely no crustaceans just a brown slime which wipes off easily. i beach...

Re: fitting a skeg to an M26
thankyou to everyone that responded, and it actually sounds like many people have considered this idea. I don't think a small fin would benefit or correct the situation, and i have noted the utube video ,but that only relates to a canting keel yacht with I beleive has a forward daggerboard which I thi...

fitting a skeg to an M26
Has anyone fitted a small skeg under the hull to help with steering at low speed ,to alleviate such problems as docking or putting on the trailer in windy conditions. I find that the boat wanders badly as soon as the board and rudders are raised. I,m sure that if the skeg was kept fairly small in de...

Re: POSSIBLE SAIL WEAR.
Hi Rick, There are plenty of boats without backstays, Most Hunters, dinghies of all desciptions. Most racing boats with swept back spreaders , just use the backstay to help bend the mast or not as a control, not necessarily to support the mast ,unless they were using a masthead spinnaker, which would r...

Re: POSSIBLE SAIL WEAR.
Hi Pugsy,No we are not newbies, relatively speaking. We purchased our M in 4/07 and have had lots of fun with it. We have cruised up the Queensland coast extensively, making best use of weather conditions and have brought her home to cruise in Tassie waters .I have been around boats all my life, Boat...

Re: POSSIBLE SAIL WEAR.
Hi Pugsy, What I have done to solve this problem is to cut 8 inches off each spreader. This required no alteration to the stay length apart from changing the position on the chainplate adjusters. The rig looks much nicer and has not created any strength issues. we have no backstay. The sail will sti...
