Lots of good ideas here. I don't think I have a cunningham from your description. I did check for a knot in the halyard but I think I had better check the Boom Vang. It may be the culprit. Since we are on the subject of Genoas...I have a furler and it appears that the furler line is getting shorter. Is there a way to retrieve that line from the furler without going through the hassle of disconnecting it?

Just to add my two cents I did pull my bent spreader on my 98 X and found it to be 1/16th rather than 1/8th wall thickness. I found the material in the local hardware store and I am replacing it with the 1/16th.
