Re: Throtttle difficulty on 50Hp Nissan
Thanks Frank. I will try disconnecting the throttle this morning! Since the previous owner did not have any problems I would expect that since it was in storage so long it may have gotten dirty or corroded. I am not certain how difficult changing the cables are but it does not look easy. It is disco...

Throtttle difficulty on 50Hp Nissan
I have a 50 Hp Nissan on my 98 X. I am the second owner and it sat in storage for quite awhile until I purchased it. My problem is a very stcky and difficult to operate throttle. Reverse is so hard that I have to put my foot on it to get anything over 1500 RPM. Is there a way to lubricate the cable ...

Lots of good ideas here. I don't think I have a cunningham from your description. I did check for a knot in the halyard but I think I had better check the Boom Vang. It may be the culprit. I will let you know after the weekend. After that it just may be a damaged slot (hopefully not!!). Thanks again.

Mainsail will not go all the way up!
I searched this subject and found some great information. However, nothing specific to my problem. For some reason I cannot raise the mainsail all the way up of the mast. I cannot get the last slug in the mast slot and the mainsail "sags" and is sloppy. As I mentioned I have slugs and have...

furler rope
Since we are on the subject of Genoas...I have a furler and it appears that the furler line is getting shorter. Is there a way to retrieve that line from the furler without going through the hassle of disconnecting it?

Thanks for your encouragement Louis! You are correct this site is such a great resource. I have learned a lot. I just finished getting the Boat ready today and was just so excited to take it out I could hardly contain myself. Yes, we have named the boat it was christened 'MAST CONFUSION'. We felt it...

I am in North Dakota. I do have a CDI Furler and I finally did get it all rigged (or at least I think I do). My remaining question was how do you keep the boom up when the main sail is down? I was told to keep it in the support but I have seen 26's with a line from the top of the mast to the aft end...

Dummy! 26X Rigging
:? OK! Am I dumb or what! Background, I am a newby so please be patient. I have windsurfed for many years but never sailed a sailboat. I just purchased a 26X last week from out of town and brought it home. Pulled out the instructions and have struggled to get the boat rigged ever since. I must be de...
