Re: Batemans Bay January Regatta
Clemo,
do you have the exact dates for that regatta? I'm entertaining the idea of coming along, after doing the Hervey Bay trip in the Xmas week. Looks like it could be an entertaining way to break trip back to Vic from Qld.

Re: Looking for an old 26M Centreboard
Well, the search for a centreboard is over. The wonderful Cameron from Blue Reef yachts has done me a great deal on a new centreboard. 8) I suppose a 'plug' for Australian Mac owners to use Blue Reef Yachts is appropriate at this point. Thanks Cameron, much appreciated. :) Now I just have to find so...

Re: Looking for an old 26M Centreboard
Cato, for racing, I have a purpose built fully battened Mainsail , with extensive telltales fitted. I tend to use the Main (and associated rig similar to a skiff. I'm thinking that this sail may be a bit flat and does not like to drive through the rough stuff. More play in this area required. My hea...

Re: Gippsland Lakes on June Long Weekend
Paul, I'm afraid I've b een a bit slack with posting my mods onto this forum. I've had this mod for a couple of years and perfected it about 1.5 years ago. Essentially it's a design I stole of the skiff I had, and uses a length of curved track with a roller car. This is all bolted on just forward of...

Gippsland Lakes on June Long Weekend
Anyone care to join us for a bit of sailing / socialising on the June long weekend at the Gippsland lakes? I know that John will be coming down to the lakes, as I'll be fitting a self taker to his boat at some point during the weekend. Come along, as it's got to be better than sitting at home :D Bri...

Re: Looking for an old 26M Centreboard
Paul, my thinking here is reasonably simple. When sailing the boat to windward, the boat immediately heels to 20 degrees and when pushed to 30 degrees. In comparison to other trailables, I'm reefing far earlier than them and am on my 2nd reef in 20 knots. Not a good place to be in, when I'm one of t...

Re: QLD Mac Owners - Xmas Regatta - Hervey Bay/Fraser Island
Paul, if your willing to let Mexican's (Victorian's) come along, we're entertaining the idea. 2 Days hard driving each way and around $1200 in fuel would see us there. We would normally be off somewhere sailing Off the Beach boats at that time of year, but since moving to a Weta, there is no Nationa...

Looking for an old 26M Centreboard
I'm thinking of trying an experiment with placing a bit of weight into a centreboard. Main issue is that my grand design will essentially trash a centreboard to carry it out, So to save a lot of money, I thought I would ask if anyone has an old centreboard that has been damaged and would be willing ...

Re: Pre-Newbie saying hi and after some info
G'day Watto, welcome to the forum and I cannot support the previous comments enough. I'm possibly the only nut who races their Mac (and therefore proving that Blue is faster). It's possibly the slowest upwind boat there is in a race, but she's not bad on a downhill run in 20+knots with the kite up 8...

Xmas on Gippsland Lakes
Is anyone going down to sail on the Gippsland Lakes at Xmas time?
We'll be down there from the night of 24 Dec 10 until morning on the 05 Jan 11. Would really like to catch up with some Mac Sailors and share a brew or two.

Rose Festival / Tallangatta Cruise
Greetings All, next weekend sees the Rose Festival Regatta on Lake Hume (Vic/NSW Border). This has some racing and some serious socialising on the Sat /Sun (don't worry about the racing bit so much, just drink lots!). On the Monday / Tuesday we'll be taking a cruise south from the Lake Hume Yacht Cl...

Re: Some dates to get together (Aus)
Well it looks like the weather for this weekend is going to be pretty foul, so we're giving it a miss. This is a bugger as this effectively wipes out the two of the planned activity dates. :( Hopefully the next one comes off. :) Over the Melbourne cup 4 day weeekend, we'll definately be going to Alb...

Re: MacGregor Owners Association
As Dirk is going to be away for this weekend's planned AGM, and no one else has notified me as to attendance (or not). We'll delay the AGM until Dirk gets back.
I hope that this does not upset anyone.

Re: MacGregor Owners Association
Well it's time to have our second AGM. I'm thinking that Sunday the 18th at 2pm would be good. We'll give it a go by using a phone in teleconference, so everyone who wants can chime in. Contact John (ubi_est_via) to get the dial-in number to join. Please join in as we really need to get the Associat...
