Re: Swim & Fisher platform

Mac X owners, in response to the iXi teams response on price. I did contact them as per their post and ask about the price. Which, I passed on the this site. I did not state that I wanted to negotiate the price as they stated in their post. They did unsolicitely send me a $2900 email the next week. ...

Re: Swim & Fisher platform

I emailed iXi. They immediately responded. Their production platform is a 2000 X model. The price is 4400 euro plus shipping. iXi recommends having a professional crew do the attachment. But, it can be done by us if we’re handy. The platform is attached with screws and adhesive. It can be removed bu...

Re: What model/year?

Take a good look at the bottom if it is ever out of the water. I had my brand new 99 spent its first summer in a slip at the marina. I had put a liquid (wax type) barrier coat on the bottom. When I pulled it out in the fall it had blisters all over the bottom. 1000 the shop said. It cost my $3500. t...

Re: What model/year?

AR is correct. This is a 97-98 model. The tell, tell sign are the cleats however. It wasn’t until 99 that the SS cleats came out. I bought a 99x brand new in May of 99. I had all the improvements that can be found. Including the foam core roof. Including those after 2000. With the exception of the pu...

Re: I need advice on a buying a 26x!!!!!!!!!!

Tom, I understand. The ladder makes a big diff though. I like to stand on it and lean on the sliding hatch. Also I don't worry about sliding with wet feet. One of the best mods I did was to put on a larger helm wheel. Wow, huge difference in the ease of steering. I believe it is 18". Capncarp, ...

Re: I need advice on a buying a 26x!!!!!!!!!!

My April 99X also has the ladder. The 99 upgrades include bigger tank valve, vent valve moved forward, ladder, stainless steel rudder brackets, new style rudders and chrome cleats. The hatch sliders changed to polymer (white ).I thought the deck was changed from balsa to fiberglass matting but I'm n...

Re: Help for restoring a MacGregor 26X, model year 2000

Guy's, The rudders and rudder brackets on the pre 99's are entirely different. ECO's is a 2000. I'm not sure that the pre 99 brackets will even fit the 2000 without redrilling mounting holes in the boat. I know the 2000 rudders won't fit the pre 99 brackets. the 2000 brackets are stainless. But, if ...

Re: Mac trawler in music video

It will be hard to beat that video. I thought that the X under power looked great. The X is a very stylish design. I posted a couple of pic's of Seadreams under the mods page "exterior". Mac Trawler Tower. It shows my X with the trawler mast I made for it. It turns a lot of heads. Capncarp...
