Fittings on mast of 26x
Does anybody know how the mast cleats are fitted to a 26x?
I have just found the bottom horn on the starboard mast cleat has broken off. Are the cleats just held on by self-tappers? Or is there a nut & washer inside the mast somehow?
Thanks for any advice

Re: Thugs - bl@@dy thugs !
Finally Sailing Very sorry to hear about your outboards, It might be worth posting on the YBW website (ybw.com) forum for stolen boats & gear, I see on there somebody had 5 outboards stolen from Papermill lock on the river chelmer. On January 19 which is near you.. If the police have the person ...

Holding tank on 26X
Hi I have a Jabsco compact sea toilet on my 26X. I would like to fit a holding tank, to give me the option to empty at sea or use a pump out in harbor. My problem is where to put it. I do not want to loose the space where the cooler box goes as I use that for sleeping bags, bedding and spare clothin...

Re: Mounting a Kicker Motor on a26X
I have a 4 hp Mariner mounted on the Starboard side of my 2001 26X on a lifting bracket. I use it as a back up also my inflatable to get out to the boat with as it is kept on a swinging mooring. The problem I have is it is a standard shaft and you realty need a long shaft. I have lowered the mountin...

Tattoo 26 at Southampton Boat Show (UK)
I see the UK importer has a Tattoo 26 at the Southampton boat show that opened today. I have not been but saw it is in the list of new boats at the show. http://www.southamptonboatshow.com/2013/exhibitor_list/exhibitor_profile.aspx?objectid=29602 The new importer has quite a few photos & details...

Re: Battery location question
Mine is in the same position as yours, inside the steering pedestal, works fine, closer to engine so Shorter wire run and less voltage drop for engine starting, my battery has not got wet in 4 seasons I have owned the boat, it is dry and dusty in there. I wonder if this is a European /CE marking iss...

Re: Mac on steroids....IMEXUS
In Practical boat owner (a UK magazine) they did a test report in 2007 with the Mac 26m against the Imexus 27 and the Tide 28, all three are Power sailors. But the Tide is more of a sailboat with lead keel & offshore capabilities that will plane with big enough engine. In July 2007 there was £4,...

Re: 26x cleat replacement
I changed the bow cleats for larger ones plus a new bow roller, as has been said before there is a tight space in front of the anchor well / buoyancy liner, quite tight I did it with a socket on the end of a 18 inch long extension arm. I believe the rear cleats are also accessible from the rear bert...

Re: Swing Mooring and bow cleats
I don’t want to worry you, but I met a motor boat owner who had two 60 hp Yamaha’s stolen from the back of his boat in Pool, The police told him he was lucky they broke the locks if they cannot get the engine off easily they cut the transom out with a chain saw. - Just make sure you have good insura...

What steering do I have?
Sorry I know steering has been covered many times, I have yet another question. Mine would be the original steering as fitted to 2001 Mac 26x but there is no make on it, by reading various posts I gather there are several different makes & designs fitted. I hope I have attached photos (my first ...

Re: Swing Mooring and bow cleats
I keep my 26x :macx: on a drying swinging mooring in Chichester during the summer; the PO had removed the bow roller and put a larger cleat on the starboard side (after removing the old one). I replaced the bow roller, but I should have got a better quality one, as it bent the first year, I have now...

Colour of wiring
:?: I am trying to work out the wiring on my :macx: , I believe it is original, except I understand the factory upgrade the wiring harness to meet European regulations on boats shipped to Europe. I have looked at the wiring diagram in the manual, and my wiring seems to follow this except the wire co...
