I know we are beating a dead horse, but..........we needed to perform a maintenance flight today that took us out over the Gulf of Mexico. You will notice the altitude says GPS altitude........... http://forums.macgregor.sailboatowners.com/album.php?albumid=2549&pictureid=16670 http://forums.mac...

Re: Does Ipad have GPS, A-GPS, or ????
We use IPads for ourJepps /Nav charts flying as corporate pilots. Two are IPad 2 with wifi. One has 3 g. We use a Dual GPS Bluetooth receiver(will only work on one IPad at a time) for the wifi versions. The 3 g version gets position data on its own. I was under the impression that it has a built in ...

Re: Coleman Stove Pan-Clamps
3 or 4 years ago, the family and I anchored out a couple nights on Lake Geneva. It was very pleasant until I woke up to make coffee..........some a$$@@@@ curmudgeon in a skiff decided it was time to harass the FIB anchored in the bay. ( this story has a point ) after he circled the boat a few times ...

Ualpow.....have you looked at North Point/ Winthrop Harbor? Check their website. I have seen a number of Xs and Ms based there over the past couple years. I rent transient slips depending on my schedule........we love it.

Re: Lake geneva fun
There is another ramp on the south side by the narrows. Kind of tricky, but doable. Parking/launch fee is the same IIRC. Someone there attempted to break into my truck bed, but didn't succeed. Williams Bay is probably the most sailboat friendly, although I have to drive left of center (trees) from t...

Re: Should I sail?
Winds out of the north in Hammond can produce some big waves quickly. Check the waves outside the breakwater before venturing out. Check wunderground marine forcast also....(keep in mind it is a "forcast" and can go either way). West to south winds would favor better conditions. You won't ...

Re: Sailing with keel up?
I don't like the rolling moment when the keel is up. I will motor, but not sail with it up.

Re: Keel Bolt Shear pin Idea
There are a couple trains of thought with the lock bolt. I'm curious, which direction is your"arc" in the trunk? I would venture a guess that many keel trunks have been damaged from the keel falling and contacting the bolt or upper back side of the trunk than damage from grounding. My trun...

Re: Adding a mast raising system to a 1993 26S
An option would be to make some bridles that would not require holes in the deck. They easily remove so as not to be in the way while underway. I used galvanized garage door cable(cheap), my spinnaker pole, and my mainsheet blocks to raise.....no extra components to store while underway. John http:/...

Re: Wheel Hub Replacement
Doesn't the 26x have a 3500# axle? My trailer has a 3500# axle and I'm thinking the inner bearing is a 1 3/8" and outer is 1 1/16".
