Re: Capsized My 26X

Hi All, Thanks for the posts (most of them) and for the best wishes. :D I offer the below not as an excuse but as an example of what can happen when you do not pay attention. Ben and I are both experienced sailors. Ben is RYA trained (large boats 35'+) and singlehanded the Atlantic Nov. 2005-Jan 200...

Capsized My 26X

My boat may be ruined. :( Insurance adjuster is looking at it today. I will post pics as soon as I get them electronically. Went sailing with my brother and his friend on Sunday. No wind. We motored to the local Tiki Bar listened to the band and went home. We went sailing again on Labor Day. There w...

I think that the :macm: and trailer will fit in 1 container. Import duties may be the bigest concern. Sometimes a "used" items does not have the same duties and a "new" item. Just a thought. :)

Keeping the Mac

Yep, I'm keeping the :macx: . I think we have found a way to make life more fun. The Club is having a pig roast this afternoon. They decided to have it at a remote location accessible by boat only. I am going to be a brat and beach the :macx: and watch the keel boat sailors get to shore in dinghies ...

Rudder bolts

Does anyone happen to know the diameter of the bolts holding the rudder on for a 96X. Mine are really rubbing where the steering is attached. I think that i need to get washers to lift the steering arm up. Any other suggestions? :macx:

I love my Mac

We own three sailboats. One will have to go. :( I was thinking of selling the Mac-- but I love this boat. We also have a San Juan 24 and a new purchase, CF27. The sailors at the club make fun of my Mac but it does things the other boats just can't do. I had it out on Easter during a J24 regatta. It ...

West Marine sells a good flip chart for -- cant remember-- more than 50 less than 100-- Last updated 2003 but it is pretty good. I wouldn't take a big keel boat down on that chart -- but you should be fine in a Mac
