Re: Beautiful Venture 21

I'm a new owner of a '69 V21 and although this is my first boat I can easily step and unstep the mast. Mine came with a stepping tool consisting of a winch on a pole but it goes up and down very easily. Add to that the fact that it SEEMS pretty easy to single-hand (I'm new so I don't have much to b...

Re: Will a 15" shaft work?

Just when I thought there were no deals on stuff anymore ;). The bad economy is my good buy. I still want t...

Pulling the boat Apart? Fixing leaks

Ok some of you might know that Virginia was hit hard by the tropical storm combined with the nor'easter. Despite the fact my boat is always covered by a huge tarp the boat still got water in the the cockpit and leaked from the little bolts that hold the two piece v21 together. It caused the boat to ...

Re: moisture in our boats

ah bleach water would be a good one, I bet that will take away some of the old boat smell too. Speaking of mice getting in the boat while storing it. I was re-wiring the boat one day and saw all these mouse droppings or rat, and I knew that something had to be somewhere. Sure enough at the aft end o...

Re: moisture in our boats

Hi Sailorja-- Around here condensation during storage periods is reduced by leaving a 40 watt bulb on inside the covered boat. Maybe a boat the size of a Mac would need two bulbs, one at each end. Just enough to raise the temperature slightly above ambient to stop the moisture from condensing on th...

Re: moisture in our boats

Moisture is a problem in almost all boats, not just the Mac's. Keep dry z bunk under the cushions and good air flow is a good idea. Here in Seattle we like to keep some heat going in the boat during the "rain event" months. You must keep the temp's low and have a good cord to do this and ...

New Layout, opinions please

Ok I have talked before about changing the plywood in my boat and the layout of the boat, so here is two drawings that are starters for how I want to redo the boat. can I get your opinions on it? I want to make sure that I don't add any pressure point to the boat that would cause any damage over tim...

Re: using bamboo in the boat

Rainer you definitely has a great looking boat! I am envious :) . I wish I could buy a 26x instead of having to save of for a house. I tried to talk my wife into buying a MAC 65 instead of a house and just live on it, but that didn't go over well. do you have a website with all of your boat ph...
