Just towed my X from Atlanta to Savannah with no issues. It's about a 4 hour drive on interstates. Won't say I didn't know it was back there, but towed well. 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0L inline 6 cyl, automatic trans with cooler. Turn OD off. Got 14.5 MPG for the trip. Sadly, the tow was to deliver ...

Never had a problem with mine on the road, but twice have broken off part of it on low hanging trees in my neighborhood. Ouch!! Thought both times "hey I should take that thing off so I don't break it again. Nah, I'll just make sure to dodge those trees" Then I get home, and I've got 1/2 a...

I purchased the set from Cajun a little over a year ago. Very high quality materials and workmanship. They do all the bindings and include all of the correct shackles, etc. Highly recommend them.

Hello, On my 95X the screw you are talking about is a sheet metal screw. All the others had nylok nuts and washers. I had the exact same leak at the dinette light. It was the screws through the turning block for the centerboard hoist. I would take just those out and check. You will find the deck is...

Re: Leaky X and a wiring question

Leak 1 How do I get access to the bottomside of the bolts that are hidden/covered by the head wall? Geez, I thought for sure you could ge to all of them.. I need to go out to my Mac to check. Leak 2 How do I remove the two black plastic panels from the inside roof around the compression pole? These...

Hiram - I would drop that light fixture (with the hanging drop) and have a look under the liner to really focus on finding the leak source I bet it is no where near the screw where you indicate, but water is coming in and making its way along the liner to the light fixture. You may only have the on...

Leaky X and a wiring question

Since there's another current thread titled "Leaky M", I thought I'd take a shot at some of my leaks as well. Also a wiring question. Here are my questions: Leak 1 I need to remove the aluminum rail on the starboard side of my sliding hatch, the one that holds the lip of the hatch down on ...

Sounds like the BMW may be a better choice, but still..

The two Lexi you listed don't have the rating to tow the Mac on a regular basis. The BMW with a 5000# tow rating is a better choice, but I wonder if your last idea isn't the best. Buy a used vehicle specifically for towing, a domestic frame-on construction SUV or pick-up with 4wd and a big 6 or cyli...

Here's what I did.

Had to have something to tow the Mac, researched on the web looking for a readily available used SUV or truck with these characteristics: a 5000 lb towing capacity 4 wheel drive 4 wheel disc brakes A/C Automatic trans Also preferred a 6 cylinder over a 4 or an 8. Also wanted something easily repaire...

Father, I have sinned.

I must be incredibly lucky, because I am quite the slacker compared to many of the diligent posters here. My 26X sits in a freshwater slip in a very warm lake in GA. Before putting her in last November, I waxed her with a good quality marine wax, but did no paint of any kind. Original plan was to pu...

absolutely a scam

eBay has been overwhlemed with second-chance offer scams in the last year or so. Usually in high-dollar eBay Motors auctions. I sold a car on eBay a few onths ago, and had 3 people contact me directly through eBay questioning me about a second chance offer that I supposedly made to them. Sent all th...
