Re: Outboard antfoul
Thanks everyone, our Lucky Drifter is about to go back on its mooring so we need something to stop the growth & oysters etc. We usually take the anodes off before coating as yes they need electric contact with the seawater. Lanolin grease works, just looking for something better, maybe alloy / a...

Outboard antfoul
Hi everybody what do you use the antifoul the parts of the outboard supports that are in the water after the engine is tilted up. We have used lanolin grease in the past but it is very messy. Any recommendations greatly appreciated thanks Lucky Drifters

Re: Compliance plate
Hi Everyone Well we have done all the research on the Yamaha T60LB for our 26X, Insu rance, Transport fo NSW, MacGregor dealers & the Yamaha dealer. What we have found is that the T60LB high thrust is suitable for our Mac. The Australian importer sold 60 boats all with 60hp outboards. What we ar...

Re: Compliance plate
Thanks knclmore I think I have found what I need. On page 20 of the original owners instruction manual under powering. " The boat is designed for an outboard motor of no more than 50 horsepower. Do not use a larger engine. " Looks like we will get a 50 hp or we could invalidate our insuran...

New engine certification
Happy new year to all Aussie MacGregor owners. We are about to upgrade from a Suzuki DF50 to a Yamaha T60 high thrust. Sounds like lots of Macs are running a 60hp or bigger. Does anyone know what you need to do to ensure that a 26X is certified to use a 60hp in Australia. Any advice greatly apprecia...

We have decided to go with a new Yamaha F50 or maybe the T60 high thrust, its only $500 extra. Has anyone else ...

Re: New engine
Thanks everyone, still looking for an engine, thanks Luke your advice & experience is greatly appreciated, looks like its either a 15hp or a 50hp, to keep our 26X as it was designed with a 50 is probably going to be best.

Re: New engine
Thanks for all your thoughts on our old DF50. There is no water above the crankcase & we have had corrosion in the salt water cooling passages. We cleared that up with Saltaway a few years back. We change impellers regularly but the seal is a good thing to check. We were just going to try to kee...
