Re: Raymarine Axiom 7-RV MFD with RealVision Transducer

Thanks for the info. Planning on installing mine on the drain valve of my 26M,. Making a plate with a 3" hole and using the 4 screws to hold it on. Then bolting/stainless riveting the existing bracket to that plate. As for run time, I run 2 batteries.. one for start, one for house. Hope I get ...

Re: What model/year?

New here and interested in getting a boat- Can anyone tell me what model this one is & approximate year? Hi AR, It's a 26X, manufactured between 1995 and 2004. Based solely on the bow light position and type, I'd say it's a 97 or 98. If you take a photo of the serial number which is riveted to ...

Re: To Paint or To Grease… That is The Question….

Sorry I can't help with saltwater questions. I do feel for you saltwater guys, though. Here's a photo of my 2014 black-steel trailer after countless freshwater dunkings. I'm afraid of what's going to happen to it after our Bahamas attempt this winter. https://1drv.ms/i/c/61fa2ece26d7300d/IQTBu_Vs3vc...

Re: Recomendatioms for cleaning cosckpit cusions

Ok, went over the cushions with Magic Easer once and then with Starbright Vinvly Cleaner. Vert happy with results. Thank you again. 8) I have a 97X so I Iam pretty surprised at how well the cushions have held up. :| Now, to protect that new cushion-shine: I sewed strips of velcro into the two cockp...

Re: Raymarine Axiom 7-RV MFD with RealVision Transducer

Wondering about the transducer mounting. Its quite close to the outboard. With the outboard down and running does it interfere with the transducer's image? AD Hi AD, sorry I don't have an answer; I've never run the sonar with the prop spinning. To be perfectly honest, the RV option was unnecessary ...

Re: Recomendatioms for cleaning cosckpit cusions

Results of the Magic Eraser process several years ago. With the 303 applied afterwards, the cushions still look great.

Recomendatioms for cleaning cosckpit cusions?
Magic Eraser with pretty much any cleaning solution like Simple Green for example, followed by a protective layer of 303 Aerospace...worked magic for me on the original cushion covers.

Re: New Tow Vehicle

I guess the real story here is that the admiral only let me buy the Rivian if I agreed to get rid of the Chevy, the Volvo, and 2 other convertibles. :D So far it has been totally worth it. We may have a different story to tell when we tow the boat to the keys in a year or 2. Welcome fellow EV-haule...

Re: Fuel water separator recommendation

I was just cleaning up the garage and I found the installation guide for the Sierra filter. In small print it says that for outboard motors the filter should be installed BETWEEN the primer bulb and the motor. That's not how O.E. or I have it currently installed! Seems to work just fine tho, does a...

Re: 26X fuel tanks = More Fuel?

9 gal might work. Would need to figure out how to fill, but at least I could be from 12 total to 18 total. I have the two 9-gal scepter tanks with the notch cut out of the bench, and I fill them through a 4" round deck plate installed in the bench top. A simple add. Actually I recommend using ...

Re: Is Full Throttle BAD For Outboards?

This was with full ballast at about 24mph. I agree that we must be on a plane of sorts, mostly, but in this configuration it still feels like its smashing the bow wave instead of riding over it. Something interesting happens without ballast at somewhere around 25 or 26mph: after a short time at that...

Re: Adding LiON to existing system

System is up and running. Funcitonal, EXCEPT... it seems like the DC to DC output isn't high enough to trigger the ACR to combine the batteries for parallel charging from the DC to DC. There are some DIP switches that can boost the DC to DC charging voltage a bit, I'll try that. Otherwise I'm going ...

Re: New to forum.

Hello, new to forum, many boats in the past, ODay 21, 34, Thompson trawler 34, about 6 platform, ski and just runarounds. Now 2000 Mac 26X. Getting her ready for summer fun. Couple of quick questions, diameter of topping lift line? Also has anyone made a quick disconnect for the mast crutch (seems ...
