Re: Finally the maiden voyage after a year
Joe, I have been leaving the shrouds attached during trailering and putting the mast on an extended mast crutch, attaching block to forestay plate and with line from forestay to block and back to jib sheet cam lock. I pull the line and push the mast up. works ok, getting forestay connected to plate ...

Tiller Extension for V17
My tiller has a hole for a tiller extension, but no extension. Can anyone recommend a vendor for the hardware to make the swivel or the entire extension? Thank you in advance,

Re: Finally the maiden voyage after a year
I dropped something in the not so dry foot well that required noting on the video, not proud of it! The area is Choptank river near Cambridge,MD. There is a terrific ramp and 6 of them so getting in is relatively painless, except stepping the mast

Keel Winch
Well, I almost ready to put the V17 into the water!! Painted deck over the 4th, reinstalled all hardware with 4200, new Becton bow vent, installed poor mans topping lift and wind indicator. Question on the keel winch, can I use a regular trailer winch for the keel? If so will a 600 lbs rated on be e...

Keel Bolt Washers 0.5"
I have V 17 with 1/2 ss keel pivot bolt, which is in fine shape but the rubber washers are old and one of the hard plastic ones is missing. Does anyone know where to get the replacement washers for the 1/2 in bolt? BWYachts only has the 5/8" upgrade kit that I can tell? Also, would it be all ri...

Bow Vent
Has anyone ever seen a bow vent like this one? Would you have a suggestion where I might find one or a similar replacement? http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4004/4576921532_a5f8c27c9b_b.jpg The second item is a gunwale attachment I am guessing for a stern railing or flag holders? Thanks for any info

Sail Care
A few photos of before and after on main sail sent to Sail Care. Amazing work. Fast and honest. These were hopelessly blown out. Had a reefing point added, new leathers on jib, new headboard on main, tell tales and battens too! Great work. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4047/4389126014_9717a2ac57_b....

Overlay on the leech?
Got my quote back from Sail Care and they suggested an overlay for the entire leech on the main. Does that mean laying addition sail material on top of the entire leech of the sail?

Sending the sails to Sail Care this week. I'm I right in assuming the reefing method is to roll the sail around the boom? g

Joevacs, I have been to your video's and pix several times. It has inspired me. I do not think I will remove the deck from the hull however! I have a cast iron keel. If I could be so bold to ask some advice at some juncture I would be grateful. Thanks for explaining the pics process, You all rock!! g
