Re: Think before you sell

I know there's a good life's lesson here, however what I really noticed in the lead in post was a 70hp Suzuki that wouldn't plane a 26M. What? You got to be kidding! Fully loaded or not that's got to be enough engine if properly installed, proped and operated to plane that boat filly loaded or not. ...

Re: Texas M26 Owners, I'll buy you lunch!

I also can't figure out how to use Facebook and gave up on that. Didn't really even want to do it in the first place (like what a waste of time). But Facebook kept sending me these emails telling me all these people I hardly knew wanted to be my friend. I knew that wasn't true since I don't think so...

Re: Texas M26 Owners, I'll buy you lunch!

To: NewtoMacinTX, I'm trying to be very careful about what I say here. I tried replying once before to your thread but my original post is not here. Then I tried sending you a PM but it's not in my sent messages. So I don't know if you got the PM or not. I have a possible solution to your question b...

Re: Need slip advice

John (Esq.), Is it proper to address a Navy Lawyer with the civilian suffix title Esq.? Educate me please! I hope its not an offense to do so as I mean the utmost respect and thanks for your military service. Herschel's advice seems right-on for a non-floating dock, having slipped in both floating a...

Re: Covered slip - lowering/raising mast on water

Back to the original Question. I've kept my M in covered slips with the mast down over the water, on dry storage lots away from the water with the mast down, in dry parking slips with the mast up near to an unobstructed boat ramp and in wet slips. Overall I prefer the wet slip arrangement. While in ...

Re: Question about selling a Mac

My philosophy on selling something that I own and don't need and/or don't want is to price it right and let it go. That way the item will sell itself. It doesn't matter if it's a house, car, boat or whatever my approach is the same. Consider what would be the price that would sell the item in say on...

Re: Actual rigging time

I think this subject falls into the category of being one of the 3 tallest tales most frequently told by Mac X and M owners. Which is how fast one can get from the towing mode to being rigged and in the water and ready to sail. The other two tallest tales revolve around how fast their Mac will sail ...

Catigale wrote:If I had to repower for my current use, I would probably drop down to the smallest fuel injected 4 stroke I could buy, probably in either the Merc or Nissan line...maybe a 25 HP or so. I just dont powerboat that much.
I think a better description of that would be De-Powering not Re- Powering.

Re: Re-powering a MacM from 70 HP up

Probably not to many responses since this has been discussed numerous times before. I haven't visited this website but once or twice in the last couple of years, but am not surprised the issue is raised repeatedly as more people get exposure to this water craft. I think the first discussion I got in...

Re: Mac Trailer vs. Other Brands

For the gentleman that wanted to see the back of the new and old trailers a little better here is the back of the new trailer (now 4 years old) shown under this paragraph. Some time after this picture was taken I installed verticle PVC pipe guides that rise above the rub rail about 6 feet above the ...

Re: Mac Trailer vs. Other Brands

I too had rust problems boating only in saltwater. My stock Mac trailer was toast after about 4 years. So I had a real trailer (all aluminum) custom made which is now about 4 years old. Also the new trailer has sway bars on both axels of the new trailer the boat rides like a dream. The new alumium t...

Re: NIssan 90 prop pitch

I too run a Tohatsu 90TLDI but it's on an M boat and recently reproped with a 14"x10" Quicksilver aluminum. I went with the lower pitch this time because the M is heavier than the X without water ballast by about 300 pounds of permanent ballast if I remember correctly. Plus I seem to alway...

Re: WHITE OR BLUE?

I think if you're the kind of person who would wear high heels to a football stadium to watch a game in the middle of winter, then I think you should buy a blue hull and probably wouldn't be satisifed with anything else.

Sailing Apps for iPhones

Cruising World magazine's latest edition has an article on sailing apps for iPhones. I was wondering if anybody would do a review of iPhone sailing apps from their experience that they have tried. And which ones worked well that they would recommend and which ones aren't worth trying or didn't work ...

Re: Texas Macgregor dealer????

Mike, I live in Texas and own an M but am so busy this year that I didn't even get my boat in the water. If I had anything like a regular schedule I would help you out for nothing. Well maybe you could spot me a spare part once in awhile. I have an LLC already so it wouldn't be hard to expand it to ...
