Re: Keel Winch
I bought a brake winch for my M25 keel at Blue Water Yachts for twice as much as the Northern Tool winch. It looks the same but it's silver though (galvanized) so I got some bling for the money. I had to put a couple of bends in the handle to clear the companionway.

Sumner, Have you tested it to see if your winch handle really floats?

The galley looks cool. And look at how thick the dinet cushions are.

Re: New Sailor, '85 MacGregor 25
I'm not planning to do anything until October or November. Then I'll probably put together a new panel and run new wiring. I think I can leave the current mast wiring alone. It would be nice if I can find time to get the VHF working sooner than that, but in the mean time I can borrow a hand held rad...

Re: New Sailor, '85 MacGregor 25
We bought an '83 M25 this winter and its electrics have the same problem as yours. They need a total rebuild. The nav lights work, but nothing else.

I've heard of people who attach one end of jumper cables to their shrouds and throw the other end overboard.

Re: Wasp nests in the Cabin
Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'll try to figure out how to mount a screen that I can attach to the inside of the companionway. If I sew a canvas border to some reinforced screen material, maybe I can attach it with velcro all the way around. That along with mothballs may do some good. The...

Re: Wasp nests in the Cabin
The wasps I'm getting are the ones that build the paper nests.

Wasp nests in the Cabin
Does anyone else out there have problems with wasp nests in your cabin? I have an '83 M25 and every time I open my companionway hatch I'd better have a can of wasp spray with me. They build nests between the sliding top hatch and the hull, and in various places inside the cabin. Has anyone successfu...
