Broken Furler Line
I discovered the outer windings in the line that unfurls the furler has developed a nick (mid way on the deck) that has caused it to unravel itself. Thank goodness there is a separate single core line embedded within to keep the line from flat out breaking in two. Is there any trick that I should kn...

The great spots of Florida....
I've launched out of Port Canaveral . It's a great place. Very well developed with a popular boat ramp, a restaurant, bait shop and all the rest of that good stuff. It's also close to "Jetty Park" which is where all the campers go and provides a terrific vantage point if and when there are...

Thanks to Duane (specs) and Mcelmore (hyperlinks) for your input. I'm getting a much better idea now so that I'll be ready shortly for ordering all the upholstery stuff. Will thoroughly check the suggested hyperlinks too. Duane, I was thinking of the ideas you were in terms of firmness for different...

Followup to my original story.....
As much as I wanted that new 26M (seeing it and liking it at the Boat Show, viewing the video and all beforehand), I'm quite content with the used 1999 26X that I picked up. I've had a lot of fun in the short time I've it. In hindsight, with that 26M buying experience from that dealer, I think it wo...

Quite an experience buying a new 26M a few months ago...
I put down a deposit on 26M that was already on the dealer lot. Ordered lots of options. I was told it would be ready in two weeks. Sound too easy? Yeah it definitely was too easy. Then some of the options became backordered from the 3rd party supplier who was attending a boatshow. Three weeks later...

Thanks for the suggestions and hyperlinks to the outlets that sell the foam. So many foam choices to make! Still need to order the foam, hence the need for the thickness. Hate to do all that ordering and then find out I had the size thickness wrong. The boat is in South Florida. I need to take measu...

Need Interior Cushion Thickness for 26X ......
Hello, I bought a 1999 26x a few months ago from an owner who had a dog. He removed all the interior cushions. He said they were damaged. So now I have the task of installing new cushions from scratch and then doing the upholstery. Can anyone tell me what the cushion thickness (inches) is for those ...

Cruising Guide to the Florida Keys
If you check out Amazon, they should have Capt. Frank Papy Cruising Guide to the Florida Keys. It's a great guide that has undergone 9 or 10 revisions. It has all the main cruising routes, illustrative charts, things to do, anchorages etc. in a beautifully spirally bound handbook (about $19.95). You...

Autopilot models
Thanks for the direction for the sport pilot discussion. Looks like I'll have to wait until they come out with the new model S1 WheelPilot in Q2 2006. My next concern would be installation. I have quite a few gauges under the steering wheel. Hope the new model doesn't get hindered by the existing eq...

Need an autopilot for a 1999 26x
Anyone have any knowledge out there on good auto pilots for this boat? I just ordered a Raymarine Sport Pilot Plus. That came in an opened box with parts missing. So I just returned that. Now I find out it has been discontinued. What other options are there (models) and their prices? Any info apprci...

Need help on new interior cushions for the 26x
I have a 1999 26x that I just bought and unfortunately, all the original interior cushions are missing. Word has it that the previous owner had a dog that messed them up. The previous owner made an attempt to rig cheaper cushions on plywood. But the fact is, the cushions are thin (1")cheap with...

Cleaning
Thanks guys. I'll try the acetone first. Good thing about that is that you can cut it with water since it is soluble in water. Then if it's stubborn, I'll try the Wd-40 in a small area. The baking soda seems like a bit of an abrasive and may scratch up the finish a bit. Will keep you posted on how i...

Need Help getting black streaks out of the gelcoat
I have 5-10 marks on the outside white gelcoat of a 26x from rubbing up against newer tires at a dock. Anyone know what the best way is to get that out? Any info appreciated, thanks.
