Re: Steel Trailer Restoration
Had my steel trailer sandblasted....allowed it to bloom and then went thru the whole POR15 system and yes successfully....now 4.5 years on it seems to be lasting. Expensive and time consuming given I decided not to spray but apply by brush all the layers and multiple coats....when finished I actuall...

Cant sleep in a boat or motorhome with the SMELL of your own P&P even with chemicals....just the chemical smell now gets me so we installed an AIRHEAD...works great and is portable from our motorhome to our Mac Just ha...

Re: Beaching the Boat
The second anchor problem was solved easy.....the anchor that came with our 26X was much too small and insufficient chain so it became our second and bought a BIG new one as primary....like to sleep and wake up in the same place

Re: Beaching the Boat
We prefer to anchor out from the shore a little way and then put out another anchor off the rear quite often using our dinghy and slowly pull the Mac so she's just floating off the beach...nice to just step off the rear and go for a walk (its funny how quickly your senses adjust to the movement of t...

Re: Battery replacement
What most people don't realise that charging a battery to about 85-90% is easy and fast....its the last 10-15% that takes the longest...as the battery voltage rises the amperage drops away rapidly....if it didn't the voltage would continue to rise damaging the battery especially AGM or gell

Had to laugh when I saw your post and googled............. harmless adjective: harmless not able or likely to cause harm. "the venom of most spiders is harmless to humans" synonyms: safe, innocuous, benign, gentle, mild, wholesome, non-dangerous, non-toxic, non-poisonous, non-irritant, non-addictive...

There's a post directly opposite the head....so probably a good idea to have one if you take out the head

Re: Installing a bilge pump
well....I installed 2x 12v bilge pumps...one on each side just in case and have a manual one(not yet installed)....I know but it just seems wrong not to have any pumping capacity at all....must admit a wetdry vacuum looks good but my extension cord isn't long enough!!!

Re: Helm seat
I removed our helmseat whilst I was renovating our Mac...and it never made it back....more room in the cockpit as a result and opens up the stern....was going to make false floor over the rear cockpit area where it steps down ,instead installed a series of rosewood stepping pads....cut outs/left ove...

Re: Boat, bike and jet ski trailer
I moded a jetski trailer by installing a floor to hold a motorbike 200-300kg depending on whether the Duke or BMW was on board. The trailer already had a basket come roofrack which I raised further for our Hobie kayaks. The side uprights also allows bicycles to be carried on the outside....our toy tra...

Re: outboard kicker bracket with rudders
This is what we did....3.3hp from memory....lengthened arms so travel and in water could be achieved. The thought of having a second method of gaining some forward motion is comforting.Cant imagine it would overcome much tidal/wind/current but in still waters seems to push our 26x slowly http://www.m...

Re: Building a Blo-Kart
We own both a BloKart and a Adelaide land yacht class5 (google)....best fun you can have with your pants on...the sensation of speed that close to the ground is great...only one problem here NO saltflats so consigned to beach use and finding the combination of low tide and wind from the right quarte...
