Off Season, smaller boat?
I have taken my boat out for the off season. (Hot) Maybe for the last time, as I face a wave of (temporary perhaps) insanity which is telling me it might be time to downsize to maybe a v22.2 again, or similar. I bought the M to live on most of the year but now find that summer is too hot. Do I need ...

Re: What under the M cabin sole?
Re weighted board. That’s something my instincts told me was not worth it. What I kind of wished I’d done is make that stub keel out of lead. That really would have helped. But I didn’t know how well it would work when I did that. Re fragile ballast tank top: nothing five layers of bi-axial won’t fi...

Re: Auxiliary outboard for 26M
Electric trolling motor mounted on the engine cover.
The controls removed and mounted on the console. Power for motor from starter wires.
I’ll do this eventually if I don’t end up getting a smaller boat.

Gulf frontal system this morning
Just got up this morning to quite a bit of rain here in the fl. keys. Looking at the radar app, I see there’s a huge frontal system with what looks like a hurricane attached, down by the gulf states?
Freaky.

20 ft of 1/4 inch chain would probably be a good addition to your main anchor.
Sorry to hear about your sails. At least you didn’t rip them by hitting a channel marker in broad daylight sunny weather like I did!

What under the M cabin sole?
It feels like there is a few inch void under there. Is is possible to drop the floor down a few inches if I didn’t mind the fiberglass work? The extra headroom would be nice.

The black stripes, are made much better with awlgrip. My absolutely horrid job is still shiny five years later. Use a really good natural bristle brush. And PPE!

Barebones stock. That’s going to be harder to find as time goes on. Looks like new.

Re: USCG to Scrap 100’s of NE Nav Bouys
Well. As much as I would like to blame this on a certain Shiba Inu obsessed billionaire, it may actually come down to safety. Hear me out. If there’s no big steel marker and you’re moving at five knots, probably the worst that will happen is you run aground. But if there is a marker, and you hit tha...

Re: I'm on the struggle-boat
Basic tools, some way to keep them dry. Oddball electric stuff and a car style circuit tester. Spare rigging stuff. Rings, some shackles. The mid sheet shackle can fall off sometimes. Have an extra of those and superglue the pin into it when you reinstall it. You’re not going to do much on the engin...

Re: New axel and hubs for M trailer
I’ll check this outfit on eBay, lots of axles and parts listed.
Now, the tire rims. Galvanized steel or aluminum? The painted OEM rims rusted even though I am sure to wash the trailer every time after use with a freshwater rinse. A not just a sprinkle, either.

Re: New axel and hubs for M trailer
Hi Russ.
A quick perusal of that site was made, and it seems like they don’t stock the galvanized axles. I didn’t see any boat or marine offerings. I looked under “light trailers”
Do those specs from Highlander apply even if I don’t intend to add the brakes?
Thanks

Re: New axel and hubs for M trailer
I can’t see the inside part of the torsion arm mechanism. That’s what freaks me out. The outside parts are somewhat rusty but present. It all gets coated in oil, and rinsed with fresh water. The axel beam *looks* ok but again, inside? After breaking off that draw bar, I’m overly cautious. Re duel ax...
