You're right, the bay here really is quirky. The north and south ends are affected by two different systems, and smack in the middle is a steep ditch about a mile deep. Yes, Rhode Island is somewhat of a hike right now. Work is eventually taking me back out east at some point in the next couple of years, but I hope to have a boat of my own by the time we cross paths. Happy sailing, and thanks for the response.
