Re: New 2004 26M

Nice!!
I haven't seen one on a roller trailer. I know thew older ones did not like that because of the water ballast. Caused cracking. I wish mine was white. The blue gets hot real fast in the morning. They are a blast!

Re: Forestay / Roller Furler

Russ is right on. The tenderness of the M is considerable. Especially on the foredeck. Trying top drop a headsail in any weather would be unsettling. I swapped sails all the time on my V25. I only had a furler at the end. It was solid as a rock with the cast iron keel down. Albeit I would always see...

Re: Dual Small Gas Tanks?

I too have the large tanks. PIA. I just regasketted them with the kits from BWY. Most fuel docks will not let you fill a portable tank while it is in the boat. 12 gallons are not going to be moved around by me. There are great posts on this forum about what tanks to use. I will be getting couple thi...

Re: Enlarged Ballast Plug Hole

They are adjustable. With the lever up you should be able to screw the base clockwise to increase the diameter of the rubber when the lever is pushed down. You may need to give it a shot of WD40 if it has some corrosion on it. I'm sure nothing happened to the hole. There is some thick glass there.

Re: showering on a Mac

I used the Solar Pressure shower from NEMO for years until it disappeared into Narragansett Bay a couple weeks ago. Just got the Rhino one, substantially less $$. American made as was the NEMO one. Works great! No need to hoist it. A foot pump is used to build pressure. Well made. Good straps and co...

Re: Motor sound changed. Change is bad

I would check the timing belt tensioner. The bearings can seize up. Best to not run it like that at all or you will be replacing the heads when the belt breaks. This happened to my brother's Yamaha. Simple fix but the belt, pullies must stay exactly where they are or the valve timing will be off. Us...

Re: Batteries

I carry a small jumper pack for emergencies. I once jump started my truck with one of these when it was 5F degrees outside. Amazing how much power they can deliver. I have 2 deep cycle batteries that I switch every year. The start battery is only connected to the motor and doesn't get much stress. ...

Re: Honda BF50 Rectifier Replacement

Thanks Opie. I did read your post. A few times actually before you wrote me. I was hoping to just find an OEM replacement. I might have found one. It won't be due in for this weekend so I put the cheap one back in. My daughter flipped the Perko selector to off while under full headway speed. Took ou...

Honda BF50 Rectifier Replacement

Hi All, So, I ordered an aftermarket regulator since there seem to be no OEM rectifiers available. Wires matched up and all looked great. Voltages were good and at about 14V from the 17 that I would get under 3/4 throttle. However the tach would drop in and out and flutter. I checked the wiring and ...

Re: Midship docking cleat

Lars H., I whacked a cabin top aluminum cleat on my V25 with my foot. Didn't know what was going on when I couldn't lift my foot up off it. I had to pull it off. Barefoot. The cleat jammed in between my baby toe and the next one and was buried to the hub of the cleat. I scrambled to the cockpit and ...

Re: Midship docking cleat

Use the mast base midship. Bowline knot. I wouldn't trust the rail or want to risk damaging it.
