Re: Standing rigging strength needs?

Biggest real issue with the stock rig in my opinion is the very week spreaders. If they bend, which they easily do, you'll lose rig tension completely. I replaced mine with some same-sized (O.D. and I.D.) stock carbon fiber tube and that has worked well. mine have bent very slightly ( from traileri...

Re: Solar Trickle Charge - Myth or Fact?

Most smaller solar panels should have a blocking diode fitted the larger panels 100W+ designed for running other equipment may not and would need a charge regulator anyway. The rule of thumb is don't constantly charge the battery at more than 3% So a 100Ah battery can handle 3amps without damage A 5...

Re: transom drain

I never like the "T" piece so I replaced it with a " Y " piece which seems to make a reduce the blockages

If you haven't got a hose pipe handy any old water fire extinguisher up the hole works wonders.

Re: weighted keels??

The dagger board structure is really quite thin
I wouldn't put much extra weight in it.

The picture is before and after the dagger board dropped while towing (only 5 miles) :-(

Re: Throttle stiff in reverse

My gear change cable lasted 6 years - 1 year after I bought the boat :-(
luckily it went while still in the marina

changed both throttle and gear cable - went for the more expensive premium cables ( allow tighter bends)
silky smooth now

Dagger board length?

does anyone know the length of a 26M Daggerboard?

It dropped while towing home last week leaving a nice white line on the road. :(
I can repair it myself but want to get the dimensions correct

Thanks

It has been like this since I aquired my Mac in june so I just gave it a squirt of lube and Thought this is normal and It will be alright . On Tuesda...

Re: help needed shroud lines

I've heard nothing back from the UK agent :o

Seem like I'm going to have to order the bits and make up a couple of sets myself when I get a chance.

I can't get to my mac at the moment could someone tell me the size of wire needed thanks!

Re: help needed shroud lines

I have the facilities and ability to fabricate one myself but not the parts

I am working away from home at the moment ,unable to source the bits myself so I am prepared to pay a premium for a ready made product.
