Re: My Last New Topic as a Mac Owner ( or see you other places)
Almost the end of the sailing season for us Northerner's. Slips start emptying out Oct 15, with a few die hard's lasting a month or so more. Going to miss days on the lake over the cold winter. How have all you been? Two X's for sale at the local Marina now. I believe one could go attractively price...

Re: Bad Mouthing the MacGregor
I am 6'7" tall, and I have a look that melts steel if I need it. My last fight was, er, a,,, Come to think of it, I have never been in a fight. The Sturgis crowd just lets me pass by. VStar's are great bikes! What, don't you like having all them Harley bikers giving you the frown? :D I do know ...

Re: Bad Mouthing the MacGregor
As a moderator, that seems like a problem, People are not here to bash Macs, but to encourage each other, that is how I see this forum. This is not a half empty cup thread, it is a cup mostly full, capable of a little healing in the wind. lol I love Macs. I would own a couple of them right now had i...

Re: Man Overboard!
Some of us would succumb to being pulled through the water by our own sailboats, or would not be able to hold on long. If you cannot climb a rope at a gym, you have no better chance of climbing up a rope on a moving sailboat. When Sailing Solo always throw your longest line overboard with a flotatio...

Re: Organizing lines in the cockpit
Walked up and down the docks today, and the most expensive, newest sailboat, a 28' mark II Catalina was using line bags to control and keep out of sight her cockpit lines. It looked sharp and functional.
This yacht has a sail contained inside the mast. Never seen that before.

Re: Bad Mouthing the MacGregor
Sturgis story from about 2005 that will help you love your one of a kind Macs. I was on a V8 motorcycle that I ride in town, while taking the Gold Wing into the mountains. At a stop sign on the V8, people are crossing the street on the main strip bikes use as an endless loup around the downtown area...

Re: Bad Mouthing the MacGregor
Owning a Mac at a marina is Childs play compared to spending Sturgis Bike Week on a Gold Wing! Try that sometime! 8) One year we gutted a large sit down jet ski and u bolted it to the trailer. Inside we removed everything, and steam cleaned it. Used it as a travel trailer behind our Wing. To top it ...

Re: Man Overboard!
Two people on sailboat. Helmsman sees other crew member fall and hit head on deck, get knocked out cold, and rolls off sailboat landing face down in the water. Sailboat is heading on straight course of five miles an hour in moderate winds. What do you do? Hit MOB button on your GPS? Toss out cushion...

Re: Man Overboard!
Do not put all your faith in a GPS system to mark your position at any given moment. Have an iPhone? It has an app that shows you where your phone is. Try it several times over the next few hours. Each time you use. It, it will show you a different place the system thinks your phone is. Given, this ...

Re: Man Overboard!
Two things: 1, welcome to the forum 2, exelent post. Spot on. If you are on big water you need such a poll. Our man overboard could be our Malteze and he will be taught this summer to swim to this poll by giving him treats. Our poll is about ten foot tall, eight out of the water, with an emergency c...

Re: My Last New Topic as a Mac Owner ( or see you other places)
I think simple is better sometimes. Bucket, lid like a toilet, plastic bag with puppy pad inside the bag. Tie a knot in it, and start 100% fresh each time.

Re: My Last New Topic as a Mac Owner ( or see you other places)
We tossed the portapotty into the dumpster. It was a nice big model, that was way above the walmart version we keep in our toter home, but the knowledge that other peoples excreations are on the device, just seems to make it too much work to clean. More refreshing to simply purchase a new one. If yo...
