Re: Marine FM and NOAA Weather Radio for less than $30
Bilgemaster, I realize this is an old thread, but I hadn't seen it before and thought "why not?" – so I went shopping. There seem to have been several updates to the radio, the latest I found being UV-6R, with several in between. Will the update program and file work on these, or should I ...

Re: New Head for a New Boat
If your wife likes a door, you can always add 1 or 2 panels to the door so that it encompasses the passage midship. Here is my solution on an early M - your existing door may differ, but the concept will still work. http://macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=605

Re: Plans and life
Look at it this way - if things had gone as you planned, you would have been in the middle of your cruise when you fell ill. It may have been much more dramatic and dangerous. God does know what He is doing, even if we don't. One of the rules I live by: "Make your plans in pencil, and remember ...

Re: using ipad with Seaiq for navigation
The iPad GPS situation is really simple to understand. True GPS is only on the chip that carries the cellphone circuit; therefor any iPad that has cellphone capability has GPS, any WiFi-only iPad only has cell tower location service (The cellphone service does NOT have to be activated for the GPS to...

Your boat is X-rated? Overloaded with Peaches??EZ wrote:So that's 7 people total? Isn't the X rated for 6?
I guess overloading a boat is not a big deal for some.

Re: Rotating Mast on 26M - how sticky is it supposed to be?
I've got a loos gauge if you need to borrow it. PM me if interested. I put the bearings in and have used them for several years without problems (haven't done much with the boat the last three years, but they still rotate fine)

Re: Hello from SE Michigan - a New 26M owner
Welcome to MacGregors and to the board. I and my 26M are in Southfield, if you want to chat or need a hand. I haven't been on the water much the last few years (health) but hope for a fairly active summer. Best times I've had with Tanstaafl were cruises with the Trailer/Sailor group in the North Cha...

Re: what would you recommend as a Dinghy for my 99 26x
I've used a 10' porta bote for 10 seasons and been pleased. If you think you'll need to bring the dinghy aboard for long open passages, you probably want a good inflatable, otherwise the port bote has several advantages. I tow the porta bote when cruising and have never had a problem even when caugh...

Re: Macgregor 26M Sticker Rollup.......Again!
So I turned to Plan B, the graphic design brother. I sent the graphic he sent me to several online bumper sticker websites and the quotes I received were anywhere from $250 to $400. The high price is due to the irregular size of the oval sticker (3" high x 13 1/2" wide). If it was one of ...

How about one on the trailer, since that's where mine, at least, spends most of its time.
I do try not to park on those slippery slopes, though -

Re: 2015 Vacation Planning for Lake Michigan. Need some inpu
Since this is your first long cruise, you may want to consider joining the Trailer/Sailor group cruise in the North Channel of Lake Huron, a few more hours driving. They have a two week cruise every year (essentially the last two weeks of July - though you can join or leave whenever). They are frien...
